Random Encounter Tables: The Battlefield!
In my current Dungeons and Dragons campaign, my players had to navigate an enormous battlefield in which two groups of multiplanar beings were at war with one another. I wanted the battlefield to feel lively and threatening, constantly changing around the PCs. To generate this effect, I decided to create a random encounter table!

Little Nightmares + Little Nightmares 2 Review
It’s not every day that a horror game succeeds in being both highly entertaining and deeply disturbing. Jump scares and mindless repetition have overtaken the horror genre as many modern games pit players against lurking supernatural threats. These games manufacture fear through long stretches of emptiness before assaulting the senses with a menagerie of horrifying imagery, flashing lights, and loud noises. Tarsier Studios opted to go an entirely different route with its stylized horror puzzler, instead settling on grotesque figures, dark themes, and overt helplessness to unease players.

Is Grand Theft Auto 5 Overrated?
Grand Theft Auto. A gaming series that is both famous and infamous among the masses. Parents hate it, but gamers love it! It's been around since 1997 and we have had 16 GTA titles on almost every console from Xbox, PlayStation, PC and even Nintendo Switch! However the latest Grand Theft Auto title is GTA 5 which came out all the way back in 2013, and since then it has had countless re-releases. You'd think GTA 5 would be the magnum opus of the series, but after playing all of the major titles, I have to be honest; GTA 5 is lacking in a lot of areas. In this article I will be going through everything that the previous Grand Theft Auto games have done better than GTA 5. Although I still love the latest installment, you will see by the end of this article how GTA 5 could've been a lot better. Hopefully all of the details mentioned here are available in the upcoming GTA 6 that Rockstar Games recently announced this February.

The Minecraft Generation
An 11-year-old in dark horn-rimmed glasses, Jordan is a devotee of Minecraft, the computer game in which you make things out of virtual blocks, from dizzying towers to entire cities. He recently read “The Maze Runner,” a sci-fi thriller in which teenagers live inside a booby-trapped labyrinth, and was inspired to concoct his own version — something he then would challenge his friends to navigate.

The Psychology of Video Game Nostalgia
Remember Odysseus, the hero from the 2,800 year old Greek play The Odyssey? He may be more relevant than you think to all those reboots of old franchises like DuckTales: Remastered, Killer Instinct, or the otherwise inexplicable Typing of the Dead reboot. As the researchers Tim Wildschut and his colleagues note in a recent article about the triggers and function of the emotion,1 Odysseus’s ordeal is a good illustration of nostalgia as it was originally conceived. The word itself derives from the Greek words “nostos” (returning) and “algos” (suffering). For 10 years our Greek hero suffered a massive bout of nostalgia as he longed to return to the way things were. He wanted so badly to return to his wife Penelope and all his favorite games from the 16-bit generation that he turned down all kinds of offers from sexy sorceresses and a not very sexy cyclops to do so.
