The Closing Shift: Summary and Review
Have you ever had one of those jobs where you just know something isn't right? you get a bad feeling about it even thought everything seems in order and the people there are average. The customers aren't that bad and your manager is as tolerable as an annoying fly in your face. They do have you doing the night shift though which you're ok with but would rather not do. You're doing your regular shift when you get the deep feeling of anxiety and dread that appeared during work and when you go home. That's what most people feel when playing Chilla's Arts 2022 game "The Closing Shift".

Tarkov Patch 12.12.30 - How's it Going?
Well since Patch 12.12.30 has been out for almost 2 weeks, I figured I’d pop in and ask how everyone is doing, and how their wipe is going. So far, it’s been not bad for myself, currently level 22 or 23 I can’t remember. But for the most part still enjoying Tarkov, the wipe and the early game. Although to be fair, we are seeing the beginning of creeping into the mid game, but it’s still early enough. Anyways, so what’s new? Well, a decent amount of stuff. We got the Lighthouse expansion which I haven’t seen because I have neither attempted to go to it, nor have I even played Lighthouse once so far. Sooner or later, I will have to, but I’m trying to stay off that map as much as possible. Let’s just say I have some... grievances with the design of it and how the spawn's work. We got new guns which is always a good time. And the animation changes have been stellar so far. From a third person perspective, they look so good and smooth and as if someone who actually uses firearms daily knows how to run with them. Granted, it wasn’t horrible before, but this feels much more natural and looks good even out to longer distances. Which was my biggest complaint with the old animations; it just looked like you were kind of reloading a gun but not really when afar. But no, these are an awesome addition to the game. And the best part is that a lot of actions can now be performed while running and not stopping. Before, you had to start a reload animation or something before you clicked the sprint button. But now, you can just run and then do whatever it is you need to do. So, a pretty solid positive.

How Video Games Have Influenced Me
My earliest video game-related memory occurred when I was eight years old. My mom and uncle were playing Mario Kart Wii in the living room as I looked on. My mom lost that race and handed me her pink remote. My uncle picked Grand Prix and 50cc and I had to make the biggest decision of my life so far, which character do I select. I had never seen any of these characters and was stuck between the green one with a big nose and the mushroom-looking one. Ultimately I picked Toad and to this day Toad is my favorite Mario character. Obviously, I lost that race and many more after but eventually, I got the hang of the game and won my first race against my uncle. From that moment on I became obsessed with video games.

What I hope Arena inadvertently does for Tarkov
With the recent news that Arena mode for Tarkov is not only real, but being tested later on this year, I figured it would make sense to go over some hopes and anticipations for what Arena mode will bring and ultimately what kind of impact it will have on both the game and community as a whole. This is something a lot of us who have been playing for years now have known has been going on in the background. But to be honest, I really never saw it coming to fruition, simply due to the fact that Tarkov has evolved into something I don’t think BSG every really imagined would happen with their game. I’m sure they are happy so many people are playing and enjoying it, but the scale is something I have a strong suspicion they were never ready for. But they have made solid strides to rectify those kinds of issues and are on their way to releasing another sizable and monumentally game-changing patch for Tarkov with patch 12.12.xxx. There’s a lot to be excited for, but to me personally, the new and updated animations are incredible and will make life in the game so much better. Everyone will actually look like they are carrying guns and running around with them as they should. Instead of the strange hand-over-rifle pseudo reload animation they do currently (if you’ve ever looked at a faraway PMC through a scope you know exactly what I’m talking about). But there’s a ton of goodies coming that we also don’t even know about so get hype; it’s going to be a good patch.

BattleBit Remastered – Better than BF 2042
I’ve never really gotten super into the Battlefield series, with the exception of Bad Company 2. I genuinely enjoyed the heck out of that game and put the most amount of time into it than any other BF game. BF 4 is second but it doesn’t even come close. However, when Battlefield 2042 was initially teased I like most people was excited! It looked better than COD at the time, and was hopefully going to be a good supplement to Tarkov as a game I can relax and just enjoy with some friends messing around in. In the wake of that games’ release... we didn’t get that. Far from it, in fact; which is a shame. I’m not a diehard BF fan, but they are great games and I enjoy them casually from time to time. But there is a game in Beta currently that gives me nothing but the best feeling from the BF series, and it’s Battlebit Remastered.
