Gangs of London - Game Review
Thanks in part to the British film industry gangsters, gangs and everybody generally associated with the underworld have been generated renewed interest over the past few years. Movies such as Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Layer Cake and Sexy Beast have raised the profile of this continually fascinating aspect of London life. It's by no means new though, tales of the East End and its less that friendly inhabitants have been in and out of the press since the notorious Kray twins and The Great Train Robbers.

Gotham City is home to some of the most insane and interesting villains -- all of whom have escaped from Arkham Asylum. Now it is up to the caped crusader to take on these threats or spend the night getting more Legos to rebuild the city. After the success of Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones, the Dutch toy maker has done it again by teaming up with DC comics to bring you Lego Batman on the PSP, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and other systems.

Game Review - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the PSP was developed by the small but capable studio Krome, who also oversaw the Wii and PS2, ps3 ports of the game. Before tackling the Force Unleashed project, Krome was responsible for Hellboy: The Science of Evil. The PSP version contains all of the same plot points as the next-gen console versions, but the level design is completely different on the handheld, making it a more or less unique experience.

The Introduction, AKA “What is even going on right now?” Friends of mine unfamiliar with Blizzard Entertainment's class-based 5v5 shooter Overwatch 2 (also called simply "Overwatch") tend to ask the same question when they see me playing the game. While this is true of many video games due to their reliance on instantly recognizable audiovisual cues and fast-paced action, Overwatch in particular seems to cater towards those who crave one distinct flavor: rampant chaos. Though the removal of one player from each team in October of 2022 may have calmed the winds in the hurricane that is the average Overwatch game, there is still always plenty going on.

The 3rd Birthday PSP Review
he 3rd Birthday is a sequel of sorts to the Parasite Eve games, although this PSP exclusive takes the gameplay in completely new directions. Here, players take control of sexy heroine Aya Brea and guide her in the third person as she faces off against legions of enemies called the Twisted in the streets of New York. The emphasis here is on fast-paced action and more than a little bit of strategy, mainly revolving around Aya's ability to possess different soldiers on the battlefield. Despite its resemblance to other more banal shooters, some exciting new gameplay innovations keep this game from devolving into traditional 3rd person shooter fare.

The Missing Context of In-Game Chat & Emotes
When was the last time you a genuine conversation with someone you didn’t know online in a videogame? It feels as though for myself personally, it’s been a very long time. Which is strange, considering for what felt like years, games were very much a social kind of experience. You go online, you meet and interact with folks you’ve never met before from all walks of life, and all share an experience for some time before you go on your separate ways. That description alone is the best angle for meeting people in games. Most of the time though, sadly, that’s not how it goes. People are rude, brash, curt, and say things they normally wouldn’t say if you were face to face with them. Online anonymity can be a powerful tool for some, and the catalyst for a lot of people to behave how they normally wouldn’t. And it's obvious game developers and companies have noticed this too. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel as though a lot of games have removed or at the very least, made it really difficult to simply speak with someone else if they aren’t in a party with you in discord or something. The traditional methods of communication in games are slowly being removed and being replaced with more “crude” methods that while in theory, can work just fine, but when actually implemented either don’t work at all, or backfire spectacularly, because companies don’t actually know what gamers want and how they interact online.
