Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been suspended from team activities following the circulation of a second video on social media showing him flashing a gun. The video, which appeared on Instagram Live, depicts Morant in a vehicle with others. The team announced the suspension on Twitter and stated that further comments would not be provided at this time. The NBA will review the matter.

It is currently unknown when or where the video was recorded. CNN has reached out to Morant's representative, the Grizzlies, and the NBA for comment. This incident follows Morant's previous suspension in March when he was seen holding a gun in another Instagram Live video at a nightclub in Glendale, Colorado. The league suspended him for eight games without pay for "conduct detrimental to the league."

During the investigation, it was determined that the gun did not belong to Morant and there was no evidence that he brought it into the nightclub or displayed it for an extended period. The investigation also found no indication that Morant had the gun while traveling with the team or in any NBA facility. Morant had a meeting with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after the incident and expressed remorse and contrition for his behavior. Silver commented on the seriousness of Morant's actions, considering his influence on young fans.

Following the previous suspension, Morant apologized and stated that he sought counseling to better manage his stress. He promised to be more responsible in the future and acknowledged his obligations to the Memphis Grizzlies and the wider NBA community.

Ja Morant, a native of South Carolina, played college basketball at Murray State University before being drafted by the Grizzlies in the 2019 NBA draft. He received the NBA Rookie of the Year award at the end of his first season. The Grizzlies' recent season concluded when they were eliminated from the playoffs by the LA Lakers.
