How I feel as a typical consumer playing online games

PlayStore makes money, but Game Service is hard to find

a design I created on the DesignHome game

I've said it about business over and over again and yet I feel like I'm the only one who really cares about the value of money when it comes to salesmanship and customer service. What good is any product or service or item available for purchase or sale, if it does not have customer service to go along with it? This is how I as a typical consumer feel when being bombarded by app advertisements coming to view at Playstore or when I'm surfing online. I don't know the new "whatever" they are talking about and they expect me to fork over my money when I don't even know if there's a person to talk to about whether I like the product or service or if I need a refund for a bad deal.

When I first learned about video games as a kid in the 70's, my family purchased a brand new Atari system from Sears for $200. That was a lot of money back then and they considered me a very lucky kid. I loved my Atari, and felt privileged that I didn't have to go to the arcade with ten dollars in quarters just to play Pac-Man and Donkey King. If something was wrong with the Atari or a new game, we knew who to talk to about it. Service was just as important as the product purchased. That's what reputation and repeat business is all about.

My favorite game from Playstore was DesignHome. I have been playing that game for the past 4 years devotedly and spent lots of money on it for the extras because I enjoyed playing it so much. I felt like a kid again, at the arcade with a big wallet full of quarters. I was proud of my designs, and felt like it was an easier option for me to enjoy colors and painting instead of sitting in front of the easle with canvas and paint brush. I didn't care for the voting system because I never agreed with the scores. It was too artificial and the voters didn't ever vote for personality or unique fashion preferences -- but I just loved the way the decorating aspect of the game was designed. I could win lots of furniture for passing designs, and those pieces were available for future designs in my inventory. I could level up by designing dream homes that were always available to re-decorate if I decided that I didn't like my old design. I haven't enjoyed a game this much since Farmville which I used to play over 10 years ago on Facebook.

Playstore has lots of games available, but I don't play them much. I like card games, but I don't need Playstore for that. I like board games, but they are more fun with real people at the table. So when I'm playing by myself online or on my phone, I like games that resemble activities that I do alone - like gardening, painting, decorating. Yet every time I find a game like that and get into it, technical issues begin to interrupt my enjoyment of the game. When I had played Farmville on Facebook (over 10 years ago) I had built the most incredible farms and enjoyed my creations immensely as if it was a fantasy world that I could escape into and be proud of my achievements. Then suddenly, the whole game disappeared as if Facebook didn't give one hoot about those of us who had spent lots of time (and money) building our farms. The same exact thing is happening with some of the games that Playstore offers --- like DesignHome. I'm over it. I deleted the game today, and I won't go back. I'm not going to spend another quarter or dollar or more on any game app. There is no customer service to go with those games, and it seems no one cares about the money we spend on those games, so I'm done with it.

I'm truly sick and tired of businesses or organizations quick to take a consumer's money, with no ethics or heart for the customer and their satisfaction with the product. It's not just Playstore, this seems to be something that society is expected to accept "now-a-days" and I find it awfully offensive and rude and unethical.

When some famous Football star was accused of cheating by inflating or deflating a football to fit his hand, everyone made a big stink about it. But when online tricksters posing as professional business people steal people's money and couldn't care less about the customer, the situation or the customer gets no sympathy or attention.

To those who have laughed while they ran away with my money...

Your loss, not mine. Game Stop will continue to sell Playstations and Xbox devices with games to go with it and they will eventually delete all those online game apps as soon as everyone gets burned the way I did.
