How I dig into the gaming world, or I can say into the tech world.

From Passion to Pixels- How I Found My Voice in the World of Game Development and Tech Writing

Game Development

The story begins in my childhood — a time when simple joys defined our world. I still remember one particular evening clearly: my two brothers were intensely playing Super Mario on our brand-new TV, their fingers smashing buttons while the game’s iconic soundtrack echoed through the living room. I, being the younger sister, was more inclined to watch my favorite Barbie movie. But somehow, instead of changing the channel, I found myself drawn to that Super Mario music — playful, energetic, and oddly hypnotic. That moment planted a tiny, unnoticeable seed.

As I grew up, I became a movie buff. Romantic comedies, animated fantasies, and everything in between filled my weekends. But then came a turning point: I stumbled upon a movie where the male lead was a game developer. For the first time, I heard the term and realized that games are made by people. That curiosity snowballed into a fascination. Who are these creators? How do they build entire worlds with sound, visuals, and code?

Years passed, and like most people, I followed the usual academic path — completed my graduation and then pursued a diploma. But life had a quirky twist planned for me.

One day, I walked into an interview for what I believed was just another IT company — known widely as the best IT company in Delhi NCR. I had no clue that the company specialized in game development. I was just excited to start my career in the tech world. But the moment I stepped into their office, something felt different.

There was background music playing. Not corporate elevator music, but something upbeat. Creative. Cool. As I moved through the corridors, I noticed something even more bizarre — employees playing video games at their desks. And no one was stopping them. In fact, it seemed like part of their job!

It felt like a parallel universe — one I never imagined could exist in real life. After completing the interview rounds, I was thrilled to learn that I had been selected as a Digital Marketer (DM) at this vibrant company.

That company turned out to be Abhiwan Technology.

And that’s when my real learning began.

Abhiwan wasn’t just a workplace; it was a portal to an entirely new realm. I started understanding not just marketing but the core of game development. I got exposed to different types of game genres and platforms — from mobile and PC to console and multiplayer environments. I learned about Unreal Engine and Unity Engine, the two most powerful game engines in the world, used to craft immersive, high-performance games.

From Augmented Reality (AR) to Virtual Reality (VR) and even the Metaverse, I began to see how vast and fascinating the gaming world really is. What excited me most was how art, storytelling, technology, and user experience came together so beautifully to create magic.

I was no longer the girl who just listened to Super Mario tunes with curiosity. I was now someone who understood the science, creativity, and effort behind that magic.

Looking back, I never planned this path. It wasn’t something I had imagined as a child. But life has its own ways of nudging you toward your calling — and sometimes, it starts with a nostalgic game tune and ends with a role you were unknowingly meant for.

In my upcoming articles here on Vocal Media, I’ll dive deeper into the trendy topics of tech and gaming — from game engine comparisons and immersive design principles to the future of AR/VR and Metaverse innovation. My goal is to make these concepts accessible, engaging, and real — whether you're a tech newbie, a gaming fan, or someone curious about how it all works.

If you’re a tech lover or a creative mind looking to explore this world, I’d love for you to follow my journey. And hey — if there's a specific topic you're eager to learn about, feel free to comment below. I’d be thrilled to write about it in one of my next pieces.

Thanks for reading my first story on Vocal Media. The journey from Super Mario to game dev dreams has only just begun — and I’m glad you're part of it.
