Farming the undead eye class mod from the Vile Lictor in Borderlands 4

If you’re diving into Borderlands 4 and chasing powerful legendary gear, the Undead Eye Class Mod is definitely one of those must-have items, especially if you’re playing as Vex. While the game lets you find this mod from random enemies and chests, the best and most reliable way to farm it is to focus on one specific boss: Vile Lictor. He’s a big story boss located in the Terminus Range, in a place called the Umbral Foundry, which sits within the Windspear sub-region.

Vile Lictor is like many other Order bosses in Borderlands 4 in the sense that, after each kill, you need to run back to his boss arena to respawn him for more farming. This can feel a bit annoying, but there’s a handy trick to speed things up. Instead of going all the way back on foot, head straight to the Encore machine near the jump pad that leads to his arena. Using this machine lets you quickly jump back into the fight, saving you time and making farming runs much more efficient.

Knowing how to beat Vile Lictor quickly is key if you want to farm him and get that Undead Eye mod faster. The fight has two main phases because Vile Lictor’s health is split into two bars, each protected differently. His first health bar is covered by Armor, while the second is shielded. So, come prepared with weapons that can handle both types of protection. Purely Kinetic weapons are great for breaking armor, while Corrosive and Electric damage types work wonders against shields.

The fastest way to kill him is to bring your strongest gun first to tear through his arms and armor in the initial phase. After that, switch to a Maliwan Shotgun equipped with the Beam Tosser underbarrel to blast through his shield phase. If you have the Complex Root weapon that combines both Corrosive and Electric damage, it’s even easier to collapse this boss quickly, thanks to his big hitbox that’s easy to hit continuously. If you don’t have that Complex Root, just stick to a Beam Tosser gun, which can destroy Vile Lictor’s shield bar quickly — in fact, if you’re strong enough, three Beam Tosser shots might be all it takes to finish him off.

What really makes this farming run worthwhile, besides the chance to get the Undead Eye mod, is that Vile Lictor drops other special legendary items as well. You might also find class items tailored for other Vault Hunters. However, don’t be discouraged if the Undead Eye doesn’t drop right away — like with any rare loot, patience and persistence are key.

So, what exactly does the Undead Eye Class Mod do, and why is it so valuable? This legendary mod activates Vex’s Blood Shot skill every time she kills an enemy with a sniper rifle. Normally, Blood Shot only triggers when you use a Repkit, but Undead Eye turns it into a Kill Skill, which means each sniper kill will make Vex’s next shot deal kinetic damage with added bonus damage based on her current health. Plus, all of your critical hits have a 33% chance to activate Blood Shot. This dramatically boosts your damage output and makes sniper builds highly deadly.

The build gets even better if you pair Undead Eye with the Finnity XXX-L legendary weapon. This unusual gun looks like a sniper rifle but behaves like a minigun, firing rapid shots. When you combine it with a crit-boosting throwing knife, you basically turn enemies into shredded “swiss cheese” in seconds, which is extremely satisfying and effective in combat.

Focus on your weapon loadout for fast kills, use the Encore machine to save time between fights, and keep at it until your luck turns. This method is fun, rewarding, and will give you one of the best legendary mods for your Druid in Borderlands 4.
