Cyberpunk 2 to Release in Late 2030, According to Analyst Predictions
Cyberpunk 2 Expected to Celebrate Franchise's Decade

Cyberpunk 2 Release – So far, Cyberpunk 2 is one of five projects currently being developed by CD Projekt Red. The game's development teams in various countries have also begun expanding their capacity by hiring more staff.
Specifically, CD Projekt Red's studios in Boston, Warsaw, and Vancouver are adding developers as the project progresses and is still in pre-production. Although The Witcher 4 remains the top priority, work on the Cyberpunk sequel continues behind the scenes.
Analyst Predicts Cyberpunk 2 Release in Late 2030
However, a report from analysts at Noble Securities, a Polish securities firm, discusses predictions for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. They believe Cyberpunk 2 is expected to release around 2030.
One of the reasons they predict this year is because it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the first game.
Here's Noble Securities' statement regarding the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel's release prediction.
Regarding the Cyberpunk sequel, Noble Securities stated that the team working on the project, as part of the studio's second main series, consists of 135 people and is expected to double in size within two years.
The desire to integrate multiplayer modes into the production has led them to extend the production timeline. As a result, the budget has ballooned to 1.5 billion PLN, and we estimate a release in the fourth quarter of 2030 (the 10th anniversary of CP77).
CD Projekt Red Learns from the First Game's Experience
By not wanting to rush the release, CD Projekt Red apparently doesn't want a repeat of the problems that occurred at the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077. Although the futuristic-themed game ultimately managed to "atone" and is considered one of the best open-world RPGs, a messy initial release would certainly not be a good thing.
The new game will reportedly introduce a second major city, and CDPR is said to be targeting more responsive NPCs, a wider variety of playstyles, and a more mature world system. Furthermore, Keanu Reeves has stated that he would like to reprise his role as Johnny Silverhand in the next Cyberpunk game.
On the other hand, CD Projekt Red's decision to take a long development time is seen as a more mature move compared to their past strategies. Following the technical failures at the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, the Polish studio conducted extensive internal reflection, both in terms of project management and the production pipeline for large-scale games.
CDPR is now implementing a more coordinated cross-studio development structure, utilizing Unreal Engine 5 as the primary technical foundation. This technology is expected to provide stable performance from the early testing stages, while also facilitating the team's development of a new, more vibrant and dynamic futuristic world of Night City.
Game industry observers predict that Cyberpunk 2 will focus not only on the larger scale of the city, but also on deepening the narrative and player choice. CDPR is known as a studio that prioritizes storytelling, so the sequel will likely feature more pronounced consequences of choice, more complex branching storylines, and supporting characters with deeper backgrounds.
Other speculation suggests that the multiplayer system being considered will not be a competitive mode, but rather a mission-based cooperative experience or futuristic social space that retains the single-player RPG identity. If implemented, Cyberpunk 2 has the potential to be one of the most ambitious projects in the studio's history.
For the gaming community, the long release gap can be quite challenging. However, most fans agree that final quality is far more important than pushing for a quick launch. CDPR's previously tarnished reputation has slowly recovered following the success of major updates and the Phantom Liberty expansion, leading many to hope that this sequel will be their next big redemption.
Currently, CD Projekt Red has not provided an official release schedule or specific details regarding the story, main characters, or setting of Cyberpunk 2. However, the studio's signals point to a long-term vision—building a next-generation cyberpunk world that is more stable, more immersive, and patiently designed.
If analysts' predictions of a release around 2030 are correct, Cyberpunk 2 will serve as both a decade-long celebration project and a new evolutionary milestone for the franchise. Until then, fans will likely have to brace themselves for the wait — but this time, with the hope that the long wait will be worth it.
