An new way to enjoy skyrim
For those looking for a new way to enjoy the game. No mods.

So to kick things off I just want to start by saying thanks for reading. All the support helps when creating something new.
Skyrim, one of the best games to hit the shelves since Mario64. An open world game set in a mythic Norse setting. You can bend those to your will using the forces of magic. Dominate hand to hand combat, forge your very own weapons. From dongen diving to picking flowers, this game seemingly has it all. You can just about create your own slice of heaven in this game. And in the years it has been out, I’m sure many fans have done just that. We have figured out the ins and the outs of the game. We have defeated the ebony warrior. Beat back the imperials/stormcloaks. Basically played every quest over and over and still we are not yet sick of it. We shal not see a game of its kind for many years. It has story apon story,Lore apon lore. It’s universe could almost be as big and as mysterious as Tolkien’s lord of the rings. So now we look to the future for Tamriel. ESO may not be your thing. As a single player gamer I understand the need to be immersed in a game. So while we wait for Es6 why not take a look back at Skyrim and what bathesda have given us. Fishing and most notably, survival mode.
Recently with the lack of spectacular gaming content being released I’ve been delving into different genres of games. Racing games(zz), Disney games, cinematic games(like heavy rain). I stumbled across a game called stranded deep. If you know the game I don’t need to tell you what it’s about, if not, look it up, maybe even check if I’ve written something about it yet. For now however we shall focus on Skyrim.
Skyrims survival mode.
I wouldn’t necessarily say it makes the game more difficult, however it certainly makes the game far more interesting. Your character becomes colder and colder in snowy environments, it gives the game that far cry primal feel in some sense. You can’t level up unless you’re sleeping, and food becomes a necessity. Carry weight is limited, so planning ahead and taking only what you need is important. You can’t fast travel, so maybe I might buy that horse in whiterun. The new mechanics make the game feel just a little more real. I imagine vr survival mode would be much better.
As promised I shall talk about my new way to play, to be fair and honest, it’s not exactly a new way to play the game. If you’re anything like me when it comes to Skyrim these days, you tend to just farm good buy houses get married adopt children and level up, the campaign no longer is a priority. I suggest playing like you are moving to Skyrim, with survival mode on, Chop wood make money, live in the game while you play the game. The experience is worth every hour of gameplay it gives you. Pick vegetables and sell them, find ingredients and make food in kitchens. Go hunting for food for once rather than just the pelts. Survival mode takes living in Skyrim to a new level beyond what I’d ever imagined for the game, even play it on hard core for that added challenge.
If you’re worried about the main question fail it at the beginning of the game by killing the black smith, or the lumber millers wife. The quest can be picked up again later.
An a side note, if you’re a lover of Skyrim, there is a fan made YouTube move call the Dragonborn which I found corny but well made. Give it a go if you have yet to find it.
