Over the years, the GD has gained a reputation for having some of the toughest levels in gaming.

In this post, I’ll talk about the nine hardest levels ever created in Geometry Dash, based on community feedback, difficulty ratings, and personal experiences.

1. Tartarus

Tartarus is one of the most infamous levels in Geometry Dash. It’s known for its extreme difficulty and quick decision required. The level has a crazy combination of fast movements and narrow spaces. It's almost impossible to make a mistake. One slip, and you're back at the beginning. I’ve tried it a few times, but it’s a level I never finished. Tartarus is ranked as a 10/10 in difficulty, and it has a completion rate of just 0.1% among players who attempt it. That should give you an idea of how tough it is.

2. Bloodbath

Another legendary level, Bloodbath is notorious for its tight timings and complex jumps. Created by the famous level designer, Riot, it pushed the game’s difficulty to a new level. It’s a long level with tricky jumps, and one wrong move means restarting from the beginning. The most frustrating part is the sheer number of obstacles, which demand flawless precision. Many top players have struggled with it, and the completion rate is also very low. Bloodbath has a difficulty rating of 9/10, and the completion rate is around 0.2%.

3. Sonic Wave

Sonic Wave is a fan favorite, but it’s also known for being one of the hardest levels in the series of geometry dash wave. It’s fast-paced, with rapid sequences that demand quick movements. There are plenty of narrow corridors and tricky timing jumps that can leave you frustrated. I’ve seen many players attempt it, but only a few make it through. Sonic Wave has a difficulty rating of 10/10, and even some of the best players in the world have taken multiple attempts to complete it.

4. The Nightmare

The Nightmare is one of the earlier "extreme" levels that many players tried and failed at. It’s filled with sudden, unexpected obstacles that can catch you off guard. The level has a unique layout that mixes tight corridors with high-speed sections. It’s mentally exhausting because you have to stay focused for the entire level. It’s not only about precision; it’s about being prepared for what’s next. The Nightmare has a difficulty rating of 9/10, and it’s one of the first levels that made players think twice before attempting extreme levels.

5. Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet is another extremely hard level that I’ve tried (unsuccessfully) to beat. The level has a lot of speed and requires perfect timing. It’s filled with tricky jumps, and if you miss one, you’ll have to start from the beginning. The most frustrating part is the extremely narrow paths that can easily lead to failure. Ultraviolet has a difficulty rating of 9.5/10, and the completion rate is very low, with only a handful of players finishing it.

6. Theory of Everything 2

Theory of Everything 2 is one of the most famous levels in Geometry Dash. Although it’s not as hard as some of the others on this list, it deserves a spot for its challenging design. The level is filled with fast-moving obstacles and requires perfect timing. The music syncs perfectly with the gameplay, which makes it even more intense. I’ve spent countless hours trying to beat it, but it still gets me every time. Theory of Everything 2 has a difficulty rating of 8.5/10, and it’s a fan favorite for a reason.

7. Yatagarasu

Yatagarasu is a tough, demanding level that will challenge both your reflexes and patience. It’s incredibly difficult to complete, and even experienced players struggle with it. Yatagarasu is ranked as a 10/10 in difficulty, and it’s one of those levels that many players attempt but never finish. I’ve tried it, but I think I’ll need more practice before I can even get past the first few sections.

8. Deadlocked

Deadlocked is one of the hardest levels that came with the game’s official updates. It’s known for its complex jump patterns and tight spaces. The level is difficult, but it’s not impossible. It requires a lot of practice and patience. What makes it unique is how the difficulty ramps up quickly, and you need to be perfect to finish it. Deadlocked has a difficulty rating of 9/10, and it’s one of the levels that made me appreciate how tricky Geometry Dash can be.

9. Cataclysm

Cataclysm is a level that many GD players have attempted but very few have completed. It has a long and difficult layout filled with tricky jumps and fast-paced sections. One mistake, and you have to start from the beginning. Cataclysm is ranked as a 9/10 in difficulty, and it has a completion rate of just 0.3%. It’s a level that will test your patience and persistence.
