The story of Great Gautama Buddha and teachings
Gautama Buddha ordinary to supreme
The Birth of Gautama and early life :
Siddhartha Gautama, often known as the Buddha, was born in a tiny kingdom at the base of the Himalayas about 567 BCE. His father was the Shakya clan's head. The brahmins allegedly foretold that he would either become a world emperor or a renowned sage twelve years before his birth. His father held him within the walls of the palace to keep him from becoming an ascetic. Having been protected from the outside world, amused by dancing girls, educated by brahmins, and taught in archery, swordsmanship, wrestling, swimming, and running, Gautama grew up in opulent royal comfort. When he reached marriageable age, he wed Gopa, who had a son. He had everything, as we may say today. However, it was insufficient. Something lured him outside the castle walls, something as tenacious as his own shadow. He came across three uncomplicated things there in Kapilavastu's streets: a sick man, an elderly guy, and a body being brought to the cremation grounds. Nothing in his carefree existence had adequately prepared him for this situation. He was unable to sleep after learning that everyone is susceptible to illness, ageing, and death from his charioteer.
A wandering ascetic holding a solitary bowl and walking quietly along the road while donning the garment of a sadhu caught his attention as he made his way back to the palace. He therefore made the decision to depart from the palace in pursuit of a solution to the issue of pain. He rode to the edge of the woodland and said a solemn goodbye to his wife and child without waking them. There, he used his sword to trim his long hair and swapped his opulent attire for an ascetic's plain garments.
The path of libration:
After some time, Gautama began working with two teachers. He learned how to train his mind to enter the realm of nothingness from Arada Kalama, who had 300 disciples. He was urged to stay and teach on an equal basis by Arada Kalama, but he departed after realising that this was not emancipation. Then, Udraka Ramaputra taught Siddhartha how to reach the concentration of mind, which is neither consciousness nor unconsciousness. Siddhartha, however, quit his second teacher since neither of them really liberty.Siddhartha and his five companions engaged in austerity and concentration training for six years. He relentlessly pushed himself, competing with his mind and body by consuming just one grain of rice every day. The ribs protruded through his rotting skin, and he appeared more dead than alive.
After he decided to eat more substantial meals and to give up austerity, his five buddies abandoned him. Then, in search of nourishment, Siddhartha visited a community. He was given a bowl of milk and a separate container of honey by a woman there by the name of Sujata. Siddhartha set off for the Bodhi tree after regaining his vigour by bathing in the Nairanjana River.
The moment of Enlightment/Awaken:
He sat after hearing from all the instructors, studying all the holy books, and experimenting with all the techniques. There was nothing left to rely on, no one to turn to, and nowhere to go anymore. After six days, it is stated that he eventually opened his eye on the rising morning star and recognised that what he had been searching for had never been lost, not to him nor to anybody else. He remained as still, unchanging, and adamant as a mountain. There was therefore nothing to achieve and no longer a battle to do so.He is quoted as saying, "Wonder of marvels, this same insight is the essence of all beings, and yet they are sad for lack of it. As a result, Siddhartha Gautama, then known as Shakyamuni, the Sage of the Shakyas, awakened at the age of 35 to become the Buddha, the Awakened One, also known as the Buddha.
He relished the peace and pleasure of freedom for seven weeks. He was first reluctant to discuss his epiphany. He believed that it would be too complicated for most people to comprehend. But when Brahma, the ruler of the three thousand realms, reportedly asked the Awakened One to provide a teaching since some people "had their eyes only slightly clouded over," the Buddha reportedly consented.
Teaching of Buddha :
1. The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.
2. Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reasoning and your own common sense.
3. Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.
4. One of the best lessons you can learn from life is to master how to remain calm.
5. Anger will never disappear so long as thoughts of resentment are cherished in the mind. Anger will disappear just as soon as thoughts of resentment are forgotten.
6. The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.
7. We are shaped by our thoughts, and we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
8. Every situation in life is temporary. So when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember it will not last forever and better days are on the way...........................................
