Moving Forward with Sharks
What’s scarier than an ocean with sharks? An ocean without them. Greenpeace During distance learning for elementary students this year, I incorporated a Would you Rather question as an ice-breaker for the start of each class. Soon, a pattern in the student’s choices emerged. Every time there was an option involving water, the students preferred the land activity, and I became curious.

Did You know? - Vicious Venoms
Some animals run fast to catch their prey or escape predators. Some have wings, while others use their sharp claws and teeth to defend or catch their prey. Toxins are no different: they can be used both to subdue prey and to defend themselves.

Crazy Eight
Random things I learned while living my life. Because Vocal created this really cool contest and I can't resist... I’ve chosen to describe eight random things because eight (Ba in Chinese) has the similar pronunciation with 发 (Fa, meaning wealth or fortune). And I am told that this number is very welcome among Chinese people.

Musical Vibrations as Medicine
In today’s society, we are all familiar with the mainstream modern medicine used today. When we’re sick we take drugs produced by pharmaceutical companies. In more drastic cases we need a surgeon to cut through our skin and fix us from the inside. We do these things because we have been taught that these are the best ways to fix a person who is unwell. What if I told you that sound and vibrations at the right frequency could also be used to help heal the body? It sounds absolutely crazy right? This idea wasn’t so crazy to great minds like Pythagoras and Nikola Tesla.

Did You know? - Incredible Insects
Kids love learning about animals, and visiting the zoo is usually one of their favorite programs. However, sometimes this information fades away throughout the years. At times, schools can discourage and restrain us to learn more about nature. As animals fascinated me all my life, I would like to share with you what fun – and bizarre – facts I know about these fascinating creatures.

Paper Cuts
It was only a tiny paper cut. It almost killed me. Back in the early 2000s, I was working in a Children's Hospital as a surgery scheduler. This meant not only scheduling, but wrangling with insurance companies for authorization, dealing with doctors and parents, and lots of paperwork.

We are made of liquid crystals and can do our own crystal healing.
We are captivated by crystals. Always have been. Mesmerised by the way they harvest light from the world around them and then fling it back outwards in every direction at once, throwing a tiny galaxy of stars around themselves. By their dream-like hues, which no human-mixed palette could match. And by the fact that they were created many thousands if not millions or billions of years ago, then churned out of the Earth's crust by some extraordinary stroke of volcanic chance, the stories of their journeys from rock to finger or throat stoking their mystery.

Small Mercies in Ocean Microplastic Pollution
We’ve all heard of the increasing burden of plastic pollution to our world – encroaching further and further into our lives and into nature’s ecosystems. Microplastics in particular are small pieces of plastic less than five millimeters long, and have become renowned as a notorious pollutant which can be harmful to our ocean and aquatic life. They enter these ecosystems from many different sources, whether from waste travelling from rivers or from including industrial and manufacturing processes and losses from shipping spills.
