Seven Times I Found Twenty-Dollar Bills On The Ground
Divine direction led me to locate unexpected money.

Blowing in the wind
I went through a period of about eight months where it seemed I was always $20.00 short just after payday. I would recount my money and re-tally my expenses without luck. One day, I said Lord, I am going to recoup my funds with twenty-dollar bills. I did, seven times.
One afternoon, in 2004, my husband and I walked to a store that was a little over half a mile away. It was mid-March, cool and windy. When I went to pay for my purchase, I realized the twenty-dollar bill I had in my pocket was missing.
My husband paid for the purchases, and on the walk home, I said the Lord was going to allow me to find my money. When we crested a hill about a half block from our house, I saw my twenty dollars blowing in the wind but not blowing away. I reached down and grabbed it and gave thanks.
The wind was gusty, so that money should have been long gone in the 30 minutes before we returned to the hillside. I believe this was a case of divine intervention.
Money on the ground
One day, about two years later, I walked out of a neighborhood store and found a twenty-dollar bill in the street. Not long after this, I found a twenty-dollar bill on the curb while shopping downtown.
In 2009, my brother asked me to officiate a wedding for a friend who was financially struggling. I said I would only charge twenty dollars. When we arrived at the couple's apartment, they did not answer the door.
My brother apologized for wasting my time, and I replied that God would see that I was paid for my time. That night, I left yet another corner store and found a twenty-dollar bill near the gas pumps.

A supernatural nudge in the right direction
The fifth time I found $20.00 was the most miraculous. One morning in 2011, around 7:30 a.m. I felt strongly led to walk to a Sheetz store that was about six blocks away. I purchased coffee and snacks and headed home.
While standing on a corner of a main street, waiting for the light to change, I heard "Tribune" in my spirit. At the time, I wrote a column for the Roanoke Tribune and received a free paper each week.
I thought perhaps there was something in the new addition the Lord wanted me to read, or He wanted me to give the extra paper to someone. I knew the neighborhood store up the hill on the right sold the Tribune, so I walked up.
I went over to the Tribune rack, and as I reached for the paper, there was a twenty-dollar bill on top. When I got home and read the paper, I realized it was the previous week's edition and the new one would not be out until the following day. I had been divinely inspired to go in the right direction to claim the money.
Money on the sidewalk
In July of 2014, I was heading to Wendy's one Sunday afternoon. I always used the drive-through, but on this day, I pulled into the parking lot. I went inside, and while waiting in line, I looked out the window.
I saw what appeared to be three pieces of paper on the sidewalk. One was yellow, another red, and the third was green. I kept staring at it and thought to myself, "No, it couldn't be." I went outside and reached down, and guess what? It was a twenty-dollar bill.

My last twenty-dollar bill find
The last time I found $20.00 was in 2016, about a year after moving to a different neighborhood. I was walking to the nearest convenience store and told the Lord it had been a long time since I had found money. As I rounded a corner, there was a twenty-dollar bill on the grass.
A few years ago, my grandchildren and I were in the parking lot of a mall, and my granddaughter found twenty dollars on the ground. I thought about all the times this had happened to me and felt a bit sad that it had stopped.
Finding money can be random without God in the picture, but for me, I believe He led me for a season to find the twenty-dollar bills.
