My Apocalypse Dream Team

Who I Want To Go Into The Apocalypse With

By M.L. LewisPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

A popular game played in prepping groups is, if you could create a team of fictional characters to go into the apocalypse with whom would you pick, and why? This is my list of team players. I chose to not use characters from popular doomsday shows, like The Walking Dead and Fallen Skies, because they already proved they are strong enough to survive a doomsday situation.

Dr. Gregory House- House M.D.

Going into the apocalypse, you are going to need a strong doctor to keep everyone healthy. House M.D. Is accredited for being the most scientifically accurate medical show on TV. His bedside manner might not be the best, but at the end of the day (or should I say episode) he gets the job done. His knowledge in medicine could also lead to a cure should you be in a pandemic situation.

Hit Girl- Kick-A** 1 &2

Hit Girl is a strong and experienced fighter. She is highly trained in weapons, particularly blades. Her quick thinking has gotten her out of a few life-or-death jams, making her great at taking supplies from enemy forces. She’ll make a great leader and trainer for your raiding teams. Being that she’s a kid, she could easily slip behind enemy lines without them even noticing something was amiss.

The MacManus Brothers- Boondock Saints 1 &2

Much like Hit Girl, Connor and Murphy are powerful fighters with proficiency in weapons, except theirs are in firearms. Even though their plans don’t always work out, they always get the job done. Another useful skill they have is their ability to speak multiple languages. This will come in handy while bartering with non-English speaking travelers.

Monica Geller- Friends

She might not be your strongest fighter, but we will see her value more from the home front. A known clean freak with a powerful ability to organize and plan, she could ensure proper rotation of supplies while maintaining a system to ensure nothing goes bad on her watch. She is a trained chef, so she can whip together tasty meals out of little to nothing. Being a chef she will have amazing knife skills, which means she could defend herself if she had to.

Dr. George Huang- Law and Order: Special Victims Unit

Mental disorders will spike during the apocalypse. Almost everyone would have seen a loved one die in a gruesome way and will have to deal with the trauma of that somewhere down the line. Dr. Huang is the best therapist on TV. He often handles patients who have gone through some sort of traumatic event, mostly PTSD, in order to help solve their crimes and to bring them some sort of justice.

The Powerpuff Girls- The Powerpuff Girls

They may be little kids, but they are very helpful in an apocalypse setting as scavengers. They have super strength, allowing them to collect vast amounts of metal to help with the rebuilding effort. Their laser eyes can be useful in construction and repairs. Their greatest benefit would be their ability to fly. This will help for evacuation, noticing enemy forces, and reaching hard-to-find supplies.

Owen Grady- Jurassic World Trilogy

The reason I include him on my list is his ability with animals. In the films, he is a zookeeper at a dinosaur park. Because he works closely with animals, he knows how to tame wild animals known for possibly eating humans. Being a good tamer means you’ll have livestock, increasing your food supplies. Working with predictor animals, like raptors, he is quite talented in tracking and finding these animals in the event of them getting out.

Hermoine Granger- Harry Potter Series

Known for being the brightest witch of her age, Hermoine brings a lot to the apocalypse. She is extremely intelligent and great at drafting battle plans for enemy forces. She can brew many potions that could be very helpful, like the one that cures open wounds in seconds. I’m sure that in an apocalypse, there will be no Ministry Of Magic to stop her from using defense spells in front of us Muggles.

Doug- UP

Doug is unbelievably adorable! He is so precious and I love him to pieces. He is also a skilled tracker, like Owen, and can team up with him to track down prey. His ability to talk makes him a good friend to have at night. Doug is very wholesome and will help anywhere he is needed. Despite his soft personality, he is fiercely loyal, doing anything for the group.

Dana Skully- X-Files

Like Hermoine, she is more book smart than street smart, which could come in very handy when organizing a defense strategy or a rotation system with Monica. Unlike Hermoine, shsh e focuses outside the box and explores other options when available. This kind of thinking can lead to hard-to-find supplies or unseen trails being located in the strangest of places.
