Marriage Tips from Toy Story that are beneficial
You can learn a lot from the Disney/Pixar animated films.

So much has changed since I married in 1981. Some may believe my suggestions to be antiquated, but I share this article for those who may benefit.
Remember, you are a married spud
It's amazing what can be gleaned from cartoons, especially when the information can help improve your marriage. In Toy Story 2, Andy's toys ride in a vehicle through Al's Toy Barn when they come to the aisle where the Barbie dolls sing and dance.
When tour guide Barbie jumps in the front seat, Mr. Potato Head repeatedly says, "I'm a married spud, I'm a married spud." Ham, the pig, pushes him aside and replies, "Then make way for the single fellows."
This comical exchange packs volumes of wisdom because Proverbs 5:15 KJV tells us; Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. In other words, remember and respect the fact that you are married and get your lovin' from your spouse.

Your spouse should be your favorite deputy
There is a scene in Toy Story where Andy pulls Woody’s string, and the cowboy doll says: “You’re my favorite deputy.” Sometimes, randomly, I say this to my husband. Your spouse should be your best friend, as well as your lover. You should always be thankful for your husband or wife and give him or her proper respect.
In the movie The Color Purple, there is a point where Sophia is having a drink with her former husband Harpo. His new wife, Mary Agnes (AKA “Squeak”), walks up and announces, "He's my man now." You don't have to shout it out loud as she did, but you should be beaming with pride when you are with your husband or wife.

Know your partner's Spanish mode
In Toy Story 2, Rex the dinosaur pushed a button, and Buzz Lightyear began speaking in Spanish. He became super romantic towards Jesse the cowgirl, and later she joked that if life in the attic became rough, she now knew about Buzz’s Spanish mode.
The toys believed they were going to be living in the attic, and Jesse was saying it would be all right because she could get Buzz to give her flowers and whisper sweet nothings in her ear.
It's important to know what turns your spouse on, not only sexually, but also what makes them romantic and loving towards you.
Mrs. Potatohead got it right
My spouse of 40 years has passed since I first wrote this article. I would get goosebumps when my husband referred to me by the pet name he gave me decades ago. He loved it when he asked me to purchase a particular snack or flavor of ice cream, and I told him I had already just bought it for him.
I randomly rubbed his back or shoulder, and he would reply that I got just the right spot. There were days when he told me I looked like I needed a hug, and he gave me one. Sometimes, we passed each other in the hallway and simply hug each other without saying a word.
Every married person should instinctively know their partner intimately inside and outside the bedroom. Mrs. Potato Head always seemed to know just what her husband needed.

Don't forget to shave!
At the end of the first Toy Story, the toys were gathered in Andy's bedroom listening on a monitor as he opened Christmas gifts. When it was announced that there was a Mrs. Potato Head, Mr.Potato Head said, " Gee I gotta shave" and took off his mustache.
He realized this was a special occasion and wanted to make a good impression. Make time to do something special for your spouse that you know will be impressive.
When the phrase, "I gotta shave," comes to mind, think of something spontaneous that will please your sweetie. You know what your spouse will appreciate, so do it.
Sadly, the Potato Heads did not have many lines in Toy Story 4 due to the death of Don Rickles and Estelle Harris. Although quiet, they were together whenever they were in a scene.
The lesson from this adorable couple is to stick together no matter what. I enjoyed it when people told me it was odd to see me without my husband because we were always together. I think that’s amazing.
Remain together during adversity
In an early scene from Toy Story, Andy is playing with his toys and he knocks over a box. Behind it was the Potato Heads, embracing each other and smooching.
During Toy Story 2, Mrs. Potato Head lovingly packed different items in her spouse’s backside. She believed he would need these things when Andy’s toys went searching for Woody.
During Toy Story 3, when it looked as if the toys would be incinerated, the potato heads held hands and moved closer to one another, preparing to die together.

Stay madly in love
You may not agree with these suggestions, but if you talk to some older couples who have remained in love and by each other's sides, you may find they put everything in this article in practice.
The Potatoheads were often found kissing and saying sweet nothings to one another. She was his little Sweet Potato, and He was her big, strong spud. My husband and I used our pet names for each other until he passed away at 63, and there was never a time we did not desire to be intimate.
At the end of Toy Story 3, Andy told Bonnie to keep the Potatoheads together because they were madly in love. You can remain madly in love over the decades when keeping the best interests of your spouse in mind. I am a witness.
