Luis Felipe Edwards Wine
History of the Luis Felipe Edwards

Luis Felipe Edwards was established in 1976 and is now considered one of the largest wineries in Chile, recognized by many domestic and international wine enthusiasts for its delicious, premium-quality flavors. Let's explore this brand with Rượu Tốt!
History of the Luis Felipe Edwards Brand
In 1976, Luis Felipe Edwards and his wife were captivated by Fundo San Jose de Puquillay, a wine estate in the Colchagua Valley with 60 hectares of vineyards, a small winery, and a historic farm. With such foundations and development potential, the couple decided to purchase this estate, with the aspiration to transform it into the largest winery in Chile in the coming decades.
Luis Felipe Edwards spent much of his time expanding the vineyards and establishing the family's agricultural roots, purchasing an additional 185 hectares of vineyards in Colchagua. During this time, he produced large quantities of wine to sell to other wineries and grew fruits for export worldwide.
Today, the brand continues to grow to become one of Chile's leading wine producers, with a winery and bottling line built with some of the most modern technology in the industry.
Geographic Location and Soil Characteristics of Some Luis Felipe Edwards Vineyards
Luis Felipe Edwards owns a vast estate, including large and small vineyards throughout the Colchagua Valley and other regions in Chile:
Leyda: This vineyard has a cool climate strongly influenced by the sea and gentle slopes, ideal for producing high-quality grapes. The resulting wines exhibit excellent minerality and subtle salinity. Based on silt, clay texture, gravel, and granite outcrops, this area is mainly planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah.
Colchagua Entre Cordilleras: One of the family's first estates, located in central Colchagua. The fertile soil, high organic content, and Mediterranean climate create perfect conditions for classic wines.
Coastal Region of Colchagua: This area has ideal conditions for producing red grape varieties thanks to its cool climate with sea breezes and rich, sandy loam soil with granite.
Colchagua Mountain: Among the highest vineyards planted in Colchagua, the LFE900 project is both ambitious and unique. The diverse soil, abundant sunshine, and lower average temperatures help the grapes mature at a steady pace until fully ripe.
