Is Human Levitation Real? The Viral Russian Forest Mystery

A look at the girl in the red jacket and the science of superpowers.

With superhero movies dominating our screens, it’s only natural that we spend a little too much time thinking about superpowers. But I’m not talking about those bizarre, "niche" talents you see on talent shows, like the guy who can pull a literal airplane with his eyelids.

I mean, seriously, when is the last time you were in a jam and thought, "If only I had someone with super-strong eyelids to pull me out of this!"? If you’re super strong, that’s a job. If you have super-strong eyelids, you're just a guy who needs very specific cable attachments to help someone lift a box off a high shelf.

What I’m talking about are the real powers. The ones we’ve dreamed about since we were kids. Specifically: The power to fly.

The Viral Mystery in the Russian Woods

Recently, a video surfaced that has the internet scratching its head. It was shot in the woods in Russia, and at first, it looks like a totally normal scene: a guy taking a walk with his dog. But as they round a bend, they stumble upon something straight out of a sci-fi thriller.

There, in the middle of the trees, is a girl in a red jacket. She isn't standing on a stump or a ladder; she’s floating about six feet off the ground.

Beside her is an older woman, presumably her mother or perhaps a "handler," just chilling and watching her float like it’s a Tuesday afternoon at the grocery store. No big deal, just a teenager defying the laws of gravity.

Analyzing the "Flight"

If you watch the footage closely, it’s actually pretty eerie. She isn't just stationary; she’s swinging slightly side-to-side, as if she’s navigating the air. There are no visible wires, no low-hanging branches, and her arms are out to her sides as if she’s actively maintaining her balance.

Even the hood of her jacket is floating upward. Maybe someone finally invented a "gravity-defying hoodie," or maybe we’re seeing something else entirely. The moment the dog starts barking, the girl drops to the ground and bolts into the brush with the woman. Whatever they were doing, they definitely didn't want an audience.

Is Levitation Actually Possible?

Human beings have wanted to fly forever. It’s why we built planes, jetpacks, and wingsuits. History is littered with "frauds" who claimed they could levitate, usually involving hidden mirrors or clever seating rigs.

But it makes you wonder: Is there still something we don't know about the human body?

If you grew up watching Chinese martial arts dramas, you’re used to seeing masters fly around using their "Chi" or internal energy. While we dismiss that as movie magic, researchers are constantly discovering new things about how the mind affects the body.

Then you have guys like Criss Angel, who seemingly levitate in the middle of public sidewalks. Most of us assume it’s a trick, but there’s always that 1% of your brain that thinks, "What if?"

The Verdict

Is the Russian "Red Jacket Girl" a master of internal energy, a lucky owner of a secret jetpack, or just the subject of a very well-edited prank?

The internet is divided. Some say the dog's reaction proves it was real, while others point to the camera being "conveniently" rolling at just the right time. Whether it's a hoax or a hidden human ability, it reminds us that we really want to believe that there’s more to our world than just walking on the ground.

What’s your take? Was that video a clever CGI trick, or are there people out there who have figured out how to tap into a secret "superpower"?
