It is believed that Pole Dance as an acrobatic dance movement came to us from strip clubs in Canada around 1980. However, even now, abroad, Pole Dance is rightly recognized as a new independent dance style.

On the history of striptease itself has been written a lot, its origins are sought in the ancient Sumerian culture (the myth of the goddess Innana) and the culture of Egypt, Rome, as well as in other early civilizations ... but the story of Pole Dance only now forms itself, because it is probably the youngest of all dance styles.

In general, if you are trying to find the roots of Pole Dance as a dance or pole dancing exercise for striptease, you can look into the history of yoga in India or the martial arts of ancient China. In India, for example, a discipline known as Mallakhamb (which means "man of power" or "pole gymnasts"), named after a man who practiced yoga on a wooden pole (around the 12th century). Another discipline directly related to modern dance pole dancing is known as Mallastambha (which means "pole gymnasts"). It used an iron pole to train the fighters' strength and dexterity.

All this accumulated experience, over time, was adopted by circus acrobats, who raised the technique of own body possession on the pole to a fall high level. Circus performers have developed a lot of tricks that are used today in the study of the Pole Dance technique.

Over time, purely circus acrobatics on the pole began to take the form of the artistic, holistic dance number. Today, such numbers are on the program of the world-famous circus such as Cirque du Soleil.

Already in our not too distant past, the experience of circus performances was indeed adopted by foreign striptease. The earliest mention of Pole Dance can be found in American sources. It dates back to 1968 when the dance pole was used when performing Belle Jangles in Oregon. Strip pole for home provided great opportunities for seduction and seduction, new erotic poses, figures, movements...

However, coming out of the strip clubs Pole Dance has acquired something more. Today it is not dancing with erotic content in its purest form. Pole Dance is acrobatics and the strength of your body combined with sensual, feminine, dance moves, which are combined into a single coherent dance, capable of causing both desires to possess, and a sense of inaccessibility and unattainability ...
