Recipe: How to Make Your Own Crunchy Oat Biscuits
Ingredients:
Half cup rolled oats
1 and a half cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
250 grams butter, melted
1/4 cup golden syrup or honey
1 and a half tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp cocoa powder (optional)
Method:
Preheat your oven to 356°F (180°C).
In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. The rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
In a separate bowl mix the melted butter, sugar, golden syrup (or honey). Stir until well combined.
Combine the dry ingredients to the melted butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
The mixture will be like a soft dough. Add optional ingredients if desired. You can add chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips.
Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and press it down onto a baking tray.
Before placing in oven cut into squares in the baking tray. I recommend doing this as it is easier to cut into squares before baking in order to avoid breakage of biscuits.
Bake: Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, your Crunchie Oat Biscuits are ready to enjoy. Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
These Crunchie Oat Biscuits are perfect for a snack, tea time, or even as a treat to share with friends and family. I love it with my cup of tea in my superman cup just like in the photo below.
Go ahead and bake yourself and your family a lovely batch of these biscuits. Enjoy munching on these delightful biscuits!
Be sure to pack in a airtight container and book your weekend away now with either Expedia or Travelstart. I always book my holidays with either of them and I get the best deals and savings.
