The Black Lives Matter movement is significant, but I must get this off my chest. ALL LIVES MATTER not just black lives or blue lives, ALL LIVES. Our world is facing a time when we need to band together. As I sit here, I can't help but remember that history always repeats itself. The wars overseas and the social disruption in our backyards, we have seen this all before and will again. Unless we step up and make the changes that need to be made to prevent it. I know that all-out peace will never happen in my lifetime. These are just the steps we need to take to start us down a better path.

• People stop acting like any of you are better than the other (I hate to break it to you, but You’re Not)

• Start showing kindness to each other (All it takes is a smile)

• Stop fighting each other over stupid shit. (Black, White, Asian, or otherwise, we are all human)

We need to start valuing human lives, not just the lives of people of the same race. All human lives, stop causing pain to those around you. Stop saying that “god” hates gays, “God” doesn’t hate anyone; from what I understand “God” loves us all unconditionally. Unless I missed the part where it says that he only loves you if you have a particular belief structure, force yourself to be someone you are not, or love a gender you don’t. It shouldn’t matter if you are gay, bi, trans, etc.; you have the right to be loved and to love. I have to break this to the ones who throw “God” into their hate, “God” doesn’t hate so stop trying to use him (or her) to justify your violent acts. “I did it in the name of God” I call bullshit. We can solve problems without violence, but we need to start communicating. While I am on the topic, Who fucking cares if someone changes their gender? Are they hurting you by following their heart? No, so fucking stop. You don’t need to kill or brutalize someone because you disagree with their choices. I don’t see anyone forcing you to change your gender, so why do you care so much if someone changes their own? It’s their bodies, so it’s their choice. Just like the dreaded word “Abortion.”

We should have the right to an abortion because there are circumstances in which you should not be forced to carry a child. I am a sexual assault survivor and had I gotten pregnant, I know I would not have been able to bring that child to term. It would be a constant reminder of the event, and no one should have to have a reminder of something like that. And yes, I can see where some would say that some people get abortions as if they are just a form of birth control, so instead of banning them, limit them. Why jump from one extreme to the next? Find a middle ground; it is not hard to do if you slow down and think. I say these things because the world we have created for ourselves has become a horrible place, with pointless racism, violence that solves nothing, and restrictions that cause more harm than good. That is not the world I want to leave for my children or grandchildren; none of us should.

I want the world we leave to future generations to be one of promise and hope. So please follow my lead, help me change the world. I know I can’t do it alone, but we can make a difference with a bit of help.
