Abraham Accord or Abraham Betrayed? Unmasking the Politics of Peace
Normalization or Numbness? The Betrayal of Palestine

They call it peace.
We see it as a betrayal.
In 2020, the world witnessed a moment portrayed as historic: the signing of the Abraham Accords by Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, with full support from the United States. Media outlets celebrated it as a breakthrough for Middle East peace, claiming it to be rooted in the shared heritage of Prophet Abraham — known in Arabic as Ibrahim (A.S.).
But for many Muslims around the world, the Accords didn’t symbolize unity — they exposed a dangerous hypocrisy. While the name of Prophet Ibrahim was used to market political deals, his message was distorted and ignored.
🕋 Prophet Ibrahim: The Man, The Mission
Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) holds a central place in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. All three faiths recognize him as a patriarch and a man of God. However, truly following him isn’t just about claiming his name — it’s about living by his unwavering devotion to Allah, standing against injustice, and honoring every prophet after him — including Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
Ibrahim (A.S.) rejected idols, confronted tyrants, and lived a life of sacrifice and truth. He did not compromise with falsehood. So those who truly follow him must also embody these values — not just in belief, but in action.
🕊️ The Abraham Accords: A Facade of Peace
The Abraham Accords were introduced as agreements to foster peace, cooperation, and mutual respect. But for anyone familiar with the suffering in Palestine, this message rings hollow. These deals were signed without Palestinian consent, and without holding Israel accountable for decades of occupation, displacement, and violence.
The Accords pushed the idea of “normalization” — the acceptance of diplomatic and economic ties with Israel — without demanding an end to its aggression toward the Palestinian people. Is that really peace, or just political convenience?
True peace cannot exist while millions of Palestinians live under siege, behind walls, and under occupation. Silencing injustice to shake hands with the oppressor is not peace — it's surrender.
🩸 Where Was Peace in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Gaza?
The very powers that orchestrated and celebrated the Abraham Accords have long histories of destruction and bloodshed:
Iraq was invaded under false pretenses, leaving a broken nation.
Afghanistan endured two decades of occupation before being abandoned in chaos.
Vietnam still remembers the trauma of foreign aggression.
And Palestine continues to suffer — through blockades, bombings, and illegal settlements.
The same nations that claim to promote peace have often been architects of war. The Accords attempt to rebrand these powers as peacemakers, but history remembers the truth.
🇵🇸 Palestine: Silenced in the Name of Peace
Perhaps the most glaring issue with the Abraham Accords is how Palestinians were excluded. Their voices, suffering, and rights were ignored. As Arab nations embraced Israel, the core issues — stolen land, political prisoners, daily humiliation — were pushed aside.
Normalization came with trade deals, technology exchanges, and photo ops. But it also came with a price: the further marginalization of Palestine. Their cause — once central to the Muslim world — is now treated like an obstacle to diplomacy.
In the name of peace, truth has been buried.
🔥 Profaning the Legacy of Ibrahim (A.S.)
To use the name of Prophet Ibrahim as a symbol for deals that enable injustice is deeply misleading. Ibrahim (A.S.) was a man who challenged oppression, not one who aligned with it. He stood for truth in the face of power — even when it meant personal sacrifice.
Invoking his name for political gains while ignoring his mission is not just disingenuous — it's offensive. And let us not forget: a true follower of Ibrahim (A.S.) must also acknowledge the final Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, who completed the same divine message.
As the Qur’an states:
"Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but a true Muslim, devoted to Allah. And he was not among those who associate others with Allah."
(Surah Aal-e-Imran, 3:67)
The real betrayal isn't just political — it's spiritual.
🕌 To the Muslim Ummah: Reclaim the Narrative
This is more than a debate about foreign policy. It’s a call to all Muslims — to rise, reflect, and recognize the manipulation taking place before our eyes. We are witnessing the misuse of sacred history to justify modern-day oppression.
As followers of Islam, we cannot remain silent. We must speak for the oppressed, uphold the legacy of our prophets, and expose the realities hidden behind political theater. The Ummah must remember that Ibrahim (A.S.) did not bend to tyrants — and neither should we.
Let’s stand with truth, with Palestine, and with the authentic legacy of Prophet Ibrahim — not the version rewritten for headlines.
Because peace without justice is not peace.
It’s betrayal — pure and simple.
