7 Things Truly Honest People Never Worry About

Have you ever noticed that the most likable individuals are also some of the most honest? Having traits that are appealing to others is essential for relationships of any kind, and honesty is one of the most appealing and universally liked traits of all. Truly honest people have the ability to state their opinions while remaining respectful. And this makes them well-liked. They're not easy to take advantage of either since they know how to hold their own and draw boundaries. With this in mind, here are 7 things truly honest people never worry about!

Number 1 - Popularity Contests High school is essentially one big popularity contest, and sometimes it feels like it spills over to adult life. You have people sucking up to their boss, going out of their way to buy expensive things just to show off, and posting vacation pictures on Instagram. Their lives revolve around what others think of them, so they do things they believe will make them likable. But is there anything more dishonest than trying to appear as something you're not? A truly honest person doesn't worry about impressing others. They are authentic to themselves and have a strong sense of self-worth. Basically, they come as they are and if people don't like that, well… that's their problem.

Number 2 - Speaking Their Mind While honest people don't seek out conflict, they aren't afraid to say what they think. They will share their opinion even if it goes against the majority's beliefs. This doesn't necessarily mean they're rude. Honest people don't just go around offending others and speaking their minds without filters. Instead, they communicate their thoughts in a calm, matter-of-fact manner while remaining considerate. Some may find this intimidating, but most people respect honesty and the ability to express one's feelings or opinions freely.

Number 3 - Pleasing Others It takes courage to be an honest person, and since not everyone is fond of hearing the truth, honest people know that not everybody will like them. When someone is genuinely honest, insecure small-minded people tend to take their comments personally and get offended easily. Furthermore, being honest also makes a person vulnerable and opens them up to criticism. But being honest to yourself and others is a sign of integrity. And living with integrity means not settling for less in your relationships than you know you deserve. Sincere people know that they can't please everyone, so they don't try to. Instead, they behave in ways that align with their personal values, and they make choices based on their beliefs.

Number 4 - Fake Friendships Fake people cannot handle any kind of relationship with an honest person. Thus, honest people don't have to trouble themselves with filtering out friends because people filter themselves out! Authentic individuals don't tolerate showing off, beating around the bush, and empty small talk. They prefer meaningful conversations with people who enrich their lives. And their friends feel secure in their relationship too, because they can count on honest feedback and loyalty.

Number 5 - Status Some people pay too much attention to titles and status in the workplace and life. But truly honest individuals never try to make themselves great by making someone else look small. They don't single out anyone or treat certain people better than others. They acknowledge everyone they meet. And since they're as genuine as they come, people tend to feel comfortable around them. After all, when you're true to yourself, you can easily connect with the genuine side of others as well.

Number 6 - Sugar-Coating If you want the advice of an honest person, you better be prepared for it! While some hold back genuine advice out of for fear of hurting others, honest people understand that sometimes, people need to hear the truth. So, they don't try to sugar-coat their advice. For instance, if a friend's business is going slow and showing no signs of picking up, they will tell that friend exactly where they're lacking so that they can improve. When someone seeks advice, an honest person will provide them with the truth even if it's uncomfortable to hear.

Number 7 - Confrontation Some people allow others to walk all over them just to avoid confrontation. Unfortunately, this habit only feeds irritation, causing it to turn into hatred. While polite and respectful, an honest person will have no problem setting firm boundaries with others. They know their worth and will not put up with being mistreated, so they stop any behavior that negatively affects them.

Honest people are well-respected by their peers because they are authentic. With this authenticity, they inspire trust and confidence in others. And while they sometimes get into trouble for being too honest, they don't worry about it too much because at the end of the day, at least they're real.
