Why are we here?
That is the big question. Our purpose here has to have a meaning, right? As a daughter I am here to make my parent happy. As a woman I am here to make myself happy. Am I here because at some point in my life I will have an impact on this world? Each person has their belief that leads them to an answer to this question. My answer is, do we need to know?
It is so much easier to live every day without overthinking everything. Creating scenarios in your mind that leave you sleepless at night and distracted by day. Some people think too much and others don't think enough. Question again is why are we here? Does everyone have a specific purpose? and if so, are we supposed to know?
Religion has been a soul soothing source to keep away people form finding answers to this question. I believe it is indeed a theory. Something that calms our everlasting hunger to know truths we do not need to know about. I believe things happen for a reason. They just do. Some things are just better left unexplained because once we find out truths there is no coming back. Like when we are children. We play and speak with the purest of hearts because we don’t really understand the world. We are innocent to the cruel truths about the world. We live happy. Most people cherish their childhood memories because it is the one time in our lives, we feel truly happy. It is when our curiosity begins to strike that we suddenly want the answers to everything.
Common answer to this question is that in a normal lifespan we morph from babies to children, to teens, to adults and to elders as part of a normal life cycle. There are three factors that come into play in our lives. these are time, energy, and money. When we are kids, we have time an energy but not money. When we are young adults, we have energy and money but no time, when we are older, we have the time and money but not the energy. We never fall into a perfect combination of all these factors. Another question I have is, are we really here go to school, work and die? or are we here for something else? something I’m missing.
This is not meant to depress you. This is not meant to get you thinking on something that you're not supposed to. This is only to make you realize there's more to life. There is more in trying to make your family happy or your friends how to make your neighbor jealous. Think that everyone has a s specific purpose but we just don't know and we never will. That mysterious part about life is what gets everyone going. You don't know what's going to happen that day. You don't know who you're going to meet or what you're going to see and it's exciting to know that out of all of the things that we don't understand, somehow, we fit. Somehow, we're little pieces that fit into this big puzzle. You can think whatever you want. That's the point of being yourself. The only thing I do ask, is that you begin to appreciate the little things in life. Appreciate the little things that you might not notice on a daily basis. Say thank you. Say I love you. Say, you're welcome, because maybe, just maybe, we are here to have some impact every day. We're here to make mistakes and to learn from them. We are here to savor every experience that we can. We are here because we matter to someone. We are here because the world would not be the same without us. Whether little or big our impact on the world is our purpose.
