What If You Had Another Pair of Hands
Just Like An Indian Goddess
I look at my own body, with eyes no longer blind - And I see that my own hands can make ... The world that's in my mind. Langston Hughes
Sometimes when I'm struggling with things, I think "Wouldn't it be great to have another pair of hands - If I could just have another pair of hands to hold this thing whilst my natural hands fixed it."
How often have you heard someone say, "I could use another pair of hands!" What they really mean is "could you give me a hand" but they don't want to say it, probably fearing rejection and they really want you to volunteer.
Often, I imagine an inventor making a waistcoat fitted with two robot arms and also fitted with two robot hands. Can you envision how helpful that would be?
Several of my friends have suggested I get a vice (I've told them I have one or two vices, but they're no good at holding things - they're not amused!)
Tasks like climbing up the apple tree to pick the fruit. My Robot Hands could hold onto the branches, keeping me safe, whilst I reach for the fruit and pick them with my natural hands.
Listing items on eBay would be easier, I could hold the items in my natural hands and take the photograph/video with the Robot hands.
Exhaustion and burnout wouldn't have the same opportunity to steal my time to the same extent: there would be more time to devote to family, or social life, and a lot more time to write that best-selling book!
It probably comes from watching all those YouTube videos about manufacturing and robot capabilities. Perhaps Elon Musk could invent something, but Elon Musk is now into bigger and better things.
I guess I'd have to have a pretty sharp brain. Imagine cooking several dishes all at once with a multitude of hands. Or maybe housework and gardening, clipping the hedge and clearing up at the same time - I could empty the dishwasher in double quick time, whilst wiping up spills ... and, and, think of how quickly I could type a story! (I don't think that last one would actually work.)
Don't I just love reading about high achievers, self-starters and successful entrepreneurs? It's nothing short of miraculous how much they can accomplish in a day, as opposed to others. We all need inspiration at times, that's why I love reading stories of success on Vocal.
Whatever labels and descriptions the world gives to these people, I believe many of us know that there are some really amazing and special people in the world. Those who take a great deal of satisfaction in helping others and progressing evolution.
We live in a pretty wonderful world as it is, but there will always be those who look on the bleak side. Perhaps they fear losing it all. God knows there are enough disaster movies to show us the other side of the coin.
And then there are the unfortunate ones, those who, through no fault of their own, cannot progress no matter how much energy and talent they put in.
... But, on reflection, I think this might just be a pipe dream, so I'll get back to work and try and earn enough cash to employ some help instead.
