The Unwanted Future
If Evil Beats Good

The year is 2050. Some historians attempted to document the events that lead to the end of civilization and humanity, but it was a futile attempt. After President Trump was assassinated in 2027, the United States had a second civil war. Millions of people were killed in riots, shootings, and road rage accidents. The hospitals were depleted of resources and doctors, as Corona Virus and various other viruses killed millions more. Energy sources (electric, oil, nuclear) began to fail as there were not enough educated and skilled engineers and technicians to maintain the nuclear plants or oil companies. Pollution began to create new viruses as acid rain began to kill the trees and plants. The air was toxic. The ozone gaps became worse. Global warming was keeping the temperatures above 95 degrees all over the world, all the time. There was no winter season anymore, and Spring and Autumn were not much different from Summer. The people who were leftover survivors suffered many physical ailments because the food and water had changed. The strongest survivors were murderers who had weapons and camping supplies. They would kill anyone or anything in their way for food or shelter.
Pop Culture was gone. The nation was gone. Technology was gone. Pieces of the props that sustained the memories were tattered and broken. Libraries were rotting buildings where books had been burned to roast pigs and squirrels. Old stadiums were abandoned and had become a garden for disease carrying rats. Cars, trucks, and busses were dumped all over the place when they stopped running like the apocalyptic visions shown in The Walking Dead comic book. School and church buildings were hiding places for small groups of people that tried to stay together to help each other through the catastrophes and wars.
The animals began to change, evolved quickly, stronger and bigger and more ferocious. Cats returned to their original size. All the dogs began to look like Wolves again but without their fur. Because of the heat, the rivers began to dry up, then the lakes. Freshwater fish began to disappear as the ocean began to swell with new sea life. All of the arctic animals and plant life died and went extinct. By the year 2049, most of humanity and the world as we know it in 2025 was gone or had changed so much it was unrecognizable. The United States was gone by the year 2045. There were only a few island countries (Cuba, Madagascar, Australia, and Japan) who resembled former humanity. What was left of humanity knew it was the end. If the four countries that had held it together didn't change things quickly, by 2100, humanity would be wiped out and the earth would go through another phase of transformation much like when the dinosaurs went extinct.
Evil had beaten good. Of the 10 million people still left alive on Earth, more than half of them had turned into savage killers with no memory of love, family, God, or nationalism. They thought like animals, only about the present moment and their own survival. To these neo-savage-humans, there was no time - only kill or be killed, only live or die. But they were already dead. Though evil had won, hope remained. The four island countries still had a chance to turn it around but time was running out quickly. The year was 2050, and if they couldn't turn it around in the next 50 years, then humanity was truly doomed. If evil beat good again, the animals would rule the earth by 2100. The aliens would not return or bring humanity back to the planet after that.
The animals would eventually bring Earth back to it's thriving healthy state. They were in harmony with the Earth. They knew what Earth needed as they were the original Earthlings. After humanity disappears, the Earth will be the healthiest it ever was by the year 2200. The cancer of the Earth, known as humanity will have been removed.

I like to believe that people can become better than this, but I do see where this is coming from. Interestingly, I think a civil war could be possible as well!
This is so strong and Heartbreaking description of Planet Earth. After all, nature knows what to do...
This is so captivating I was hooked from the first few lines. Especially the trump part. Feels scary. A taste of what could come. Great work ✍️♦️
