Coming from a small town and into a big city Alexandria was a very beautiful, talented, unique individual with a huge personality. Money never crossed her mind too much but she was usually caught in the moment. Her family didn't really come from anything nor raise her but beautiful Alex always had a dream. Sometimes the dream would bounce around from one thing to the next but she always had a vision that something big and beautiful would one day happen to her. Working one mundane job and going to the next she always stayed positive and worked hard. It was one day on her way to the big city to look for work and maybe a possible move she got a call from.
Ema her sister, who had desperately been trying to reach out to her, "Alex, OH Alex our Mom... she.. has passed. Where are you? Why haven't you answered anyone's calls? We have got to discuss the funeral!"
Alex cupped over her mouth tearing up and fell to the floor, "Ema, I'm kinda away right now, like really far in a city looking for work. I possibly might move here I can't just afford a plane ticket back right now." Alex could hear Ema pressing different buttons over the phone frantically, " Your so selfish its always about you. Our mom called and you never answered once. DO you even want to know what happened? A heart attack, she died from a heart attack!" Ema hung up.
Alex fell back on to the hotel bed, all her mom ever wanted was for her to be successful, rich and be somebody. All Alex wanted was love, just one good love but sadly she ran though men on speed dial. Flipping through photos on her phone she took a look at her mom, '' I'm sorry Mom that I'm gonna miss the funeral but I'm gonna stay here and find work and be someone you'll see!" Alex chugged the rest of hotel vodka bottle and curled up with the bottle and fell deep asleep.
The following day she arose dizzy and confused, she reached for the empty bottle to have another drink and she heard a voice.
"Hey, you over here."
Alex stumbled around the room confused from where the sound was coming from, she went over to the mirror and started to look around for hidden microphones and cameras.
" WOW, your old self isn't too clever is she?" the sound seemed to come from inside the vodka bottle.
Alex freaked out and jumped on the bed grabbing the vodka bottle looking around the room frantically and began wildly swinging at the air. "Whose in my room you better show yourself now or I'll....I'll fuck you up!"
"BOO!!!" came a sound from the bottle Alex let out one loud scream and swung herself off of the bed and the bottle came crashing hard onto the ground. Sitting herself back up, smoke came out from the broken bottle and rose up gathering in a thick purplish cloud and out of it a large floating eyeball surrounded by purple smoke.
"Finally! Took you long enough! Tahdah spirit cloud at your service!" Quickly changing form as it saw she was about to scream again it turned into a man with light purple skin and dark purple hair glimmering as the light shown on him with a rainbow arura.
Alex grabbed the blanket from off the bed and slowly started to burry herself under the white sheets feeling very frightened
"No, no no this can't be happening there must have been something in the drink or stress, yes it must be a hallucination due to stress!"
The purple entity was now in a purple suit he walked over and grabbed the sheets from over her head making Alex scream again, "NOW Look here Honey, I don't have forever to work with you, so you either take it or leave it but I'm here to help." Breathing heavily Alex gathered her composure and stood up at the now more human and handsome figure standing before her. "O.K Who are you? Why are you here? and did you just come out of that bottle like a genie?"
The purple mans eyes grew big," oh no girl, you got this all wrong! I ain't no genie and I definitely didn't come out no bottle! Man your generation got some shit wrong. I'm an interdimensional time traveler, that your future self met and slyly had me owe her a favor hence why I'm here. Your future self said you were already familiar with quantum physics and basic occult knowledge am I wrong?"
"My future self? Riiight" Alex grabbed some glass to throw away shaking her head in dismay. The purple man pulled out a small black book and opened a page to show her. "OMG! That looks exactly like me but slightly older!" Alex attempted to grab the book from his hands but fell over instead.
"Exactly! because it is you!" The entitiy said as he slammed the little black book close. " I came here to give you a second chance and some cash but most importantly give you guidance, so you don't end up where you future self is at right now." He threw 20,000 grand down on the bed and the small black book.
"Wait is my future self ok? And how does that effect me here on this timeline?" Alex reached on the bed for the black book but her hand got quickly smacked by the purple entity.
The purple man shook his head and sighed,'' Yes of course she's ok, technically, she made her riches. She acquired forbidden knowledge and she did many influential accomplishments. But is she fulfilled and happy? well that's another story. This is why I'm here. We have some timelines to fix and the only way this is gonna work out, is if you accept this and we work together to fix the karma and make it all right. The $20,000 is from her, to you. So you have a better start than what you would've originally had now that you are all parentless and all."
"But why this timeline why this version of me?"
"Because you are the only version of you out of all the timelines that can fix what you are about to discover. Trust me I like interviewed quite a few versions of you." The entitiy muttered under his breathe," definitely won't forget the version of you that pissed herself and tried to stab me with a cross then throw a bible at my head...she might have died of heart attack but we're not gonna go there..."
Alex had a confused look on her face, "Ok..Ok .. I get the point I might be like the only one that can handle whatever reality it is I'm tapping into. Gah I hope I'm not fucking losing my mind!" Alex grabbed the stack of cash to smell if it was real "OMG! I gotta fly back home and take care of the funeral! What's your name by the way?"
"Adam, Adam Theo" He began to straighten his purple suit. Alex nodded, " like Atomic Theory, correct?"
"So you do catch on. Now look we don't got time for your moms funeral. Time is always of the essence. The funeral isn't what you think your brother will steal most of the belongings of your mom and lose them and your Grandma will pass a month after all this."
Alex fell back on the bed, '' no that can't be!" she then covered herself back up under the sheets to cry.
Adam poofed himself a purple top hat from smoke," Damn, perhaps that was too much too fast. I forget how delicate these kinds of matters are for humans....look that other version of you out there is well....dying and you are the one timeline that is the closest to fixing the problem that in turn will complete all versions of you. We have some work to do! We gotta go now!"
"Your crazy and just a figment of my imagination there's not a me out there dying, my mom is dead, my grandma is dying and perhaps right now I'm going crazy or dying too." She undid the binding of the $20,000 and flung all the cash up into the air then put a pillow over her face.
"Christ! what a pity party! Well at least you still have a heart I can't say much for your ruthless timeline twin. Mmmm maybe that's it! Yes we will get you a plane ticket back in time for the funeral then back here in the city. Where we must focus on what it means to love someone and I hope to god that this version of you doesn't fuck it up like the other you. Like you got divine guidance on your side!" He clapped his hands together, "now how do we get to the nearest airport? And do you happen to have another vodka bottle I can ride in?"
Alex wiped her eyes off, "and what's this black notebook for?"
Adam sneered, "well that's how we depict the future baby! In it is the Akashic record of every version of yourself and everything you've done." Alex began to open the book only to have it snatched from her hands. "NO! it is not for your mortal eyes unless we need to check and do an analysis on how our actions might be effecting other timelines and realities. Its a book for reference to make sure we are on track."
Alex looked confused," I wanted to check on the version of myself that sent you to help me, I don't really know her or her story. Wanna tell me why she is dying?"
Adam scanned the black book really quick. "Nope, that information is irrelevant at this moment in time! She put herself there and not all the money in the world can help her. But I will tell you this by listening to me and making this the best timeline ever! You will be helping yourselves as a whole. Does that make any sense?"
Alex started to pack her bags ," yeah sorta, soo we can't get like some wishes out of the book or something? or maybe it could be like Deathnote we write names and people die or better yet come back alive then all things are fixed!"
Adams face contorted and he hid it with one hand," I'm not sure which version of you I'm gonna end up disliking more.. the immature, pitiful you or the conniving, savage witch you."
Alex laughed, " well you seem to be helping me which means you must like me to an extent."
Adam quickly flicked though all the pages of the black book and scoffed," Ha preposterous! So this book gives me probable futuristic outcomes. Not wishes, which means if we leave now and arrive at the airport at exactly 5pm there will be a lady standing by the entrance trying to give away her ticket back to your home town" he slammed the book close, "and we don't even have to spend a dime."
Alex smiled," So you are a genie after all! And I get endless wishes as long as its possible to happen in this timeline!"
Adam looked at Alex in a most phlegmatic way and opened the door for them to head out," Interdimensional Time Traveler to you!"
Alex pranced out the door, "Interdimensional Time Travelin Genie!"
Adam closed the door to catch up with her. "Why do I get the feeling she's gonna abuse the system?" He uttered under his breath.
And So A Chapter Ends And Another Opens
What will happen to our two immortal and mortal friends? Will they make the funeral? Will Alex make it back to the city to start a new life and learn love? Or will our two friends get lost in the sauce and lose touch with reality?
