The ocean

origins

By WilliamPublished 5 years ago 5 min read

In the beginning, everything was pure. A connecting energy pervaded with a clean intent and deep within the depths of the dark blue all life was connected. All thoughts were shared and how could they not. For all was like minded and combined in their efforts of love, peace and harmony.

These were early times and reminiscent of today's dolphins. Frolicking through the waves with a lust for life and living in the moment. United in ideals and thought. Great whale like creatures with powerful minds. Communicating with frequencies of energy not bound by earth and soil.

There were many forms of these ocean like beings that resemble todays aquatic inhabitants. So numerous in number. All sharing a space filled with a driven and collective consciousness. Psychic and divine in essence, they lived with such child like happiness blissfully ignorant to the trials of a monstrous world.

Being tapped into the earths mind the oracles and sages of this race at one point began to prophesies something that would forever split there harmonious race into division. They called a great meeting of minds and throughout the dark blue the masses of beings would gather for a great decision now had to be made and all would be included.

"We have been told change is coming". Spoke the voice of the higher ups.

"We have all been summoned to make a collective decision, one that will change things forever but it is a choice we cannot stray from".

Seemingly ominous but lacking a feeling of dread for the energy of the time was still pure and would not manifest such things. Bliss and joy still reigned and in a playful manner a verdict would be reached.

"We can either stay or leave". Continued the higher ups conveying the path laid out before them by the great mind of the earth.

" We must evolve and seek what is above and beyond!" and this rang true with many.

"No, we must stay as we are for we know what we have and to seek else may risk us losing ourselves!" and this rang true with many also.

For the first time the collected minds of the ancient underwater world were divided.

Two different mindsets were carved out and in this instance everything changed.

"The potential of what we could achieve out ways the risk of corruption!" continued the voices of those wanting to seek the surface lands.

"We must go! For to stay will eventually surely lead to an end. There is only one certainty in this existence and that certainty is that there will always be change. We must embrace this!"

This dialogue and conversation continued for an unknown amount of time, looking at all the possibilities, but in the end still only two sides remained.

Those that would leave seeking more from above and those that would choose to stay disconnected from their brethren forevermore.

For ever what would come to pass there would be no regrets and both sides gave love to each other with the fullest of their hearts yet regarding themselves as the wiser in their decision.

A great exodus began. It was a split of about half and half. Those that began their ascent to the surface lands that in their minds would bring salvation from what was to come. Those that stayed as they were, in their paradise, missing their fellow brethren but safe, sound and certain in their own decision to remain.

Time moved on for what seemed an eternity and no change came.

Still the mass passing of time continued, barely noticed by those below. Living in a dream of harmony and blissful coexistence.

Still no one was aware of how many eons passed by until finally the day had arrived and with it change. Shadows appeared above. Small at first. Un-threatening. dancing far above. The connection of minds having been lost so long ago none of the now beings that existed below could have any sense of it.

" What could those things be up there?" Murmured back and forth. Still with no conviction of any real concern.

"Surely our brothers and sisters have not forgotten about us and with whatever change they have faced they will reach out to us again so we will know what great adventures they have encountered".

Sadly no response came to them

There minds being severed so long ago and already both sides becoming so foreign and alien to each other that no communication could come to pass.

The shadows grew bigger. Slowly at first. Over vast amounts of time whereas becoming normal and familiar to those that had decided to remain.

Then came the tendrils of shadows reaching deep into the depths of the dark blue.

The earth cracked and screamed far above.

Monstrous sounds unknown. Repetitive in nature and powerfully loud. Unlike any sounds heard before. Being more artificial and so removed from their own nature.

The shadows grew so massive that the entirety of the above was cast in darkness.

The beings above no long resembled anything close to the ones that they had left behind. So forgotten were the ones below being seen by those above in only dreams and faded long lost memories

"Whatever is to become of us we know we choose the right decision, we will always choose harmony over division. In this realm and the next". Yet fear had finally come to them.

The end looming on the horizon. Unmistakable in all its horror.

"Oh my god I dont know if I can bear to keep reading this" half halfheartedly laughed James.

"Why whats the story like?"

"its great" replied James

"Well it started of so nice but feels like the ends taken a real turn"

James half grimaced

"Its sad but for reasons I cant explain"

"All I know is it feels like home?" "Does that make sense?"

"Oh James, your so young. You have many homes to live in yet but yes I understand sometimes things just resonate in a way that's hard to describe" Replied his father

"Im not sure who even wrote that to be honest. That black book your reading from was your Nannas. I didn't get the chance to see her much before she passed away. She was such a good person and I miss her sorely.

James father still regretted not seeing his Nanna in her final days and often wondered if he truly was a bad person. Didn't manage to get it together somehow to travel and see her at all before she passed away. Pangs of regret remembering how unexpectedly he had discovered she had left him $20,000. That was going to James though. When he was older and more mature to know what to do with it. He hoped in his heart that would make his Nanna proud.
