transhumanism
Transhumanism is an international and intellectual movement that aims to transform the human condition by developing and creating widely available sophisticated technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities.
A Metamorphosis
It happened bit by bit, and then all at once. She first noticed the change on Monday morning when she was brushing her teeth and the plastic bristles scraped against something hard, slippery and distinctly un-toothlike. Little Mila frowned, touching the tip of her tongue to where her molar once was, and felt a cold wet stone. Hooking her finger into her mouth, she pulled her cheek back and peered at the rock in the mirror. It looked like a diamond or a sort of crystal, roughly shaped like a tooth, dimly reflecting the bathroom light. She pinched it between her thumb and forefinger, trying to wobble it, but the rock was firmly embedded in her gums. That same morning, as she brushed her hair, she noticed a few wiry strands of gold sprouting from her head, glowing among her mousy brown locks. She couldn’t pluck those out either. This was the beginning of a metamorphosis.

The Aggregator
Tina once joked that instead of collecting things, I collect people. I suppose she had a point. I have spent my entire life cultivating an understanding of them. A study in fascination and revulsion has compelled me to spend my life’s work collecting every last detail.

Frequency Holders
There were whispers of an ancient text created as a fail-safe, its purpose to preserve the collective experience of human existence. Humanity became increasingly volatile throughout eons of civilizations, the propensity for their own destruction was progressing rapidly. The “text” was imbued with the frequency of the Akashic records, the countless lifetimes of experience became far too precious to lose.

Timestamp
Linden has no idea where the money came from, is the problem. Her day had started out normally enough. She'd woken at five when the dog started whining, let him out into the backyard, and considered staying up and getting the day started right up until the dog came back inside and the bed had seemed to beckon her back. Her alarm had gone off at seven, and then the day had actually begun: shower, clothes, coffee, a glance at the news on the television and the news on Twitter before opening the front door to glance at the news in the paper she still gets delivered.

The Influence
For I have a confession, Lara, I found it, and now it’s up to you to finish what I started because I have no idea what will happen to me, now they know. I know I shouldn’t have taken the money, but what choice did I have? This little black book, the one you are reading is the key to it all. Please, do forgive me for the words I am about to write, but I fear that it’s too late for me.

The Dream State
When we dream, we are experiencing an alternate Universe. It feels a lot like a remixed version of the world we live in now. The only difference is some things appear to be a little bizarre. When I was in high school, I remember chilling on my friend's porch, and her next-door neighbor came over to talk with us. We were all talking about dreams. He was homeschooled so often his views on life were much different from ours. He said something that stuck with me for life. He said, "what if when are dreaming, the other people in our dreams are also dreaming." As if to say, our dreams were all intertwined, but we only experience it from our viewpoint.

What will technology bring us by destroying human limits?
It is an undeniable fact that transhumanism and transhumanist idea is inevitable phenomena in the contemporary world. The term transhumanism offers hope for minimizing human limitations with the help of technological improvement and applications (Lockhart, 2013).

Brain Database Uploads and Neurons versus Synthrons
Let's say that, in the future, one is able to upload you brain into some sort of backup similar to the way in which one stores a computer's information on a backup hard drive. The “back-up” copy of your brain should be the same as the intended “original” copy, otherwise, what would be the point of having this “back-up” brain? What if the contents of your brain, stored on this backup hard drive, was downloaded into two bodies simultaneously? More specifically, what if this backup information was downloaded into both a body living in Hawaii and the one intended for hard labor on Mars? The answer to this question is dependent on the nature of the technology used to perform this upload. If the upload is somehow affected by the simultaneity of the upload, there could be damage done to the software as it is uploaded, depending on how the data is transmitted. Imagine two people trying to stream Netflix on their devices using the same WIFI network. There may be moments where the show gets paused on one or both computers because streaming uses so much data and in the case where one is uploading a database contenting someone’s thoughts, it could cause small failures, or perhaps even a completely failed download.
