This Rebel From 'Rogue One' Will Be Joining The Cast Of 'Andor' On Disney+
Since we haven't yet reached the heat death of the universe, more Star Wars series are being released on Disney+ in the coming years. One of the upcoming ones is Andor, about, fittingly enough, Cassian Andor, one of the protagonists of the generally well received Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It will follow his exploits before the events of the film, showing his earlier years fighting with the Rebel Alliance against the evil Empire. It will be a prequel series to a prequel (or midquel, depending on how you want to look at), and it is set to be released in 2022 and consist of twelve episodes.

With the creation of The Clone Wars animated series in 2008 and, most notably, the purchase of Lucasfilm by Disney in 2012, Lucasfilm had the opportunity to create lots of new Star Wars content, some of which subsequently overwrote the existing story canon, and relegate them to "Legends." While this resulted in some good and sometimes even brilliant new perspectives regarding existing Star Wars characters and storylines, there were times when it completely missed the mark. 'A New Hope' Is the Best 'Star Wars' Movie, And Here’s Why
There is a lot of pressure placed on the first installment in a series, whether it be a movie, a book, or a television show. When the story is about something outside our reality, like a science fiction or fantasy, then the first chapter is responsible for painting the picture of the world to the audience. Worldbuilding is a tricky art. Long-winded descriptions would fail to hold the interest of the audience. If too little information was given, then we would spend the entire time trying to figure out what was going on. The world should be different enough to spark our imagination, yet familiar enough to make it believable. Star Wars: A New Hope accomplished just that, making it the best Star Wars movie in the saga.

How The Sequel Trilogy Can Be Improved By the Disney+ Shows
Star Wars was no stranger to ridicule and vitriol from the audience, but the sequel trilogy probably received the most hate among other canonical content. Even the prequel trilogy, Jar Jar Binks, and "I don’t like sand" did not receive the amount (or perhaps the volume) of anger from the fanbase. Part of the reason that the prequels were often regarded as a tier above the sequel films by many fans could very well be due to the excellent additional content surrounding that era— from comics, to novels, video games, and visual dictionaries. The Clone Wars animated series improved the prequel trilogy like no other content. With the great Tom Kane’s episode introduction in the style of a WWII newsreel, and the various characters of Jedi and clones alike developed over seven seasons, the show brought a fresh and vibrant feel to the first three movies of the saga. A similar treatment to the sequels would help tie storylines together, deepen the impact of characters and events, and create a more cohesive and rewarding experience for Star Wars fans. Here are the ways that the Disney+ shows could improve the much maligned Sequel Trilogy.
