Star Wars is a science fiction franchise set in a universe far far away.
Why The Original Trilogy Trio Did Not Fail
Star Wars is no stranger to fan discourse. As a matter of fact, it practically invents fan discourse. The newest cause of argument among fans seemed to be the sequel trilogy. Now that The Rise of Skywalker has been released, fans are quick to point out what they believe to be flaws and continuity issues that sequels create for the larger Star Wars series and universe. One of the big issues that fans often bring up is how the rise of the First Order and the Emperor's return show that Luke, Leia, and Han had failed in the original trilogy. However, I do not think that was necessarily the case.

What Do The Colors Of Lightsabers Really Mean?
Not as clumsy or random as a blaster, an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. The lightsaber is a staple of the Star Wars franchise and the weapon of choice for the Jedi and Sith alike. It has two main components: the hilt and a plasma blade that emits from the hilt upon activating the weapon. At the heart of it all, the kyber crystal, a semi sentient crystal that Jedi would seek out as part of their initiation into the Order. Having a will of their own, the crystals would call out to their eventual owners and bond with them. At which point the crystal would take on the color of the user’s spirit. Each color was unique and represented the kind of Jedi its wielder would be.

“You’re a Jedi, Harry” – Comparing And Contrasting The Force In 'Star Wars' And Magic In 'Harry Potter'
For some, Star Wars and Harry Potter will always be tied together because they are two of the most popular franchises to come out. Both are based on Joseph Campbell's “hero's journey” and have many similarities, despite their genre differences. Before delving straight into the comparison between Luke and Harry, let’s look at the similarities and differences between the Force in Star Wars and magic in Harry Potter.

How 'Star Wars: Bounty Hunter' Answered One Of 'Attack Of The Clones' Biggest Questions
Sixteen years after the release of Return of the Jedi, seemingly the final chapter of George Lucas' space opera, he released the first of his prequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace. This new trilogy would focus on a young Anakin Skywalker and map his descent to the dark side of the Force, becoming the villainous Darth Vader. George also used his new trilogy to show us how the Empire and Emperor rose to power, and the tragic near extinction of the Jedi Order, but the new films left fans with some questions as new introductions were made, with very little background.

What If There Was No Jedi Present When Order 66 Was Given?
The Bad Batch has been giving us an in-depth look at the inhibitor chips, Order 66, and most importantly, the aftermath of said order. The season appears to be halfway over, and it is still raising several questions in the best, most intriguing way possible. Throughout the season we have also been introduced to a slew of familiar characters from The Clone Wars, and in the latest episode, characters from Rebels. In this episode, we also see more clone troopers that do not behave like the clones we have seen in the previous episodes. It has given rise to quite a few fan theories as well. Before I go any further, I will say that this will contain SPOILERS for The Bad Batch, especially Episode 11.

The Most Successful Sith Lord
The Sith had been the great enemy of the Jedi for thousands of years. Many had done dark and terrible things, conquering planets, building empires, and delving deep into the very nature of the Dark Side of the Force. However most Sith Lords we have seen in the Star Wars universe were always defeated by the Jedi and agents of the Light Side of the Force. Even when they had moments of victory, they would always end up vanquished in the end. What if there was a successful Sith Lord who managed to rule his Empire, lived a very long life, and died peacefully in his bed without an apprentice killing him? Well there was such a Sith Lord who managed to gain such power that he could fall asleep in peace and die. That Sith was none other than Marka Ragnos, greatest of the Dark Lords of the Original Sith Empire.

How A Force-Sensitive Droid Saved The Galaxy
While many fans know the Star Wars movies by heart, plenty of minor details, side quests, and other supplemental parts of the story show up only in comics or books. These aspects are used to enrich the canonical core films, with varying results. While many have been placed into the Legends category, signifying their exclusion from canon while still stocking comic book store shelves, the High Republic line of comics seeks to show the Jedi at their canonical peak. However, here we will be discussing a Legends comic (that itself was considered non-canon even back then) that tells the tale of an unsung hero of the Rebellion and how a bad motivator saved the galaxy and set Luke Skywalker on the path to Jedi Knight.

Why Leslye Headland Hired A Writer Who Has Not Seen 'Star Wars' For 'The Acolyte'
Star Wars seems to have no end in sight. And as long as the franchise explores new eras, fleshes out new characters, and really tries to innovate, that is a good thing. A far away as it seems, one of the upcoming shows in development, The Acolyte, seems like it may tick these boxes. With Leslye Headland helming the show, we are sure to see more diverse storytelling, one of the reasons being that she hired a writer who had never seen Star Wars before.

How The High Republic Affects Our View Of The New Republic
In the second issue of The Rise of Kylo Ren, Lor San Tekka traveled to the world of Elphrona in the Outer Rim together with Luke Skywalker and his nephew Ben Solo, roughly a decade after Return of The Jedi. They were searching for the Jedi Outpost from the time of the High Republic. To date, this is the most direct connection between the High Republic and the New Republic. The time gap between these two eras of Star Wars may only be a little over 300 years, only a blink in the overall timeline. At first glance it appeared that the High Republic and the New Republic could not be further apart. On one hand, we had a galaxy at its peak, growing and prospering, with thousands of Jedi available to protect it. On the other hand, we had a galaxy that had been living under the tyranny of an evil Empire with its gigantic war machine, ruled by two merciless Sith Lords who would not hesitate to wipe out entire planets. Now that this Empire had been defeated and the Sith seemingly gone, those who survived the Galactic Civil War struggled to rebuild democracy and peace.

George Lucas' Sequel Trilogy We Never Got
Although Disney's sequel trilogy continued the story of characters we have grown up with and loved over the last few decades, many fans were left disappointed, and this created a divide amongst the fan base. However, with tie-in books such as Star Wars: Fascinating Facts by Pablo Hidalgo and The Star Wars Archives: 1999-2005 by Paul Duncan, salt seems to have been added to the wounds as we learned more about George Lucas' plans for his own sequel trilogy, had he not sold it all to Disney. Today, we are going to look at what he originally had planned.

Dave Filoni Gets His Own 'Star Wars' Action Figure
How do you know if you have made it in a certain science fiction franchise? It is when you are immortalized as an action figure. Of course, it is no surprise that characters like Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Rey, and Kylo Ren would have action figures and toys made of them as soon as they appear on screen (and sometimes even before!). So when the good people behind the camera lens who brought the magic on screen get their own action figures, it is a special treat indeed. Imagine the excitement when Hasbro first announced its Star Wars fall 2021 lineup.

Should Jedi Be Held Accountable By Something Other Than The Force?
For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. However, tying themselves so close to a galactic government brings about their downfall. Why did they do that in the first place? Why did the Jedi not remain an independent organization free from any government organization? What would have happened had they remained independent, and how would they have used their powers without being tied to a non-Force user government? It bears the question of how the Jedi are accountable, too. Are they held accountable by the Republic, themselves, or the Force? After all, if there was an organized group of powerful people, many non-powerful people without those powers would be wary of them. So by whom should the Jedi be held accountable?
