Star Wars is a science fiction franchise set in a universe far far away.
New Star Wars Book ‘Brotherhood’ Is Set To Expand Upon Iconic ‘Revenge Of The Sith’ Line
There is a new Star Wars novel on the horizon by author Mike Chen. Brotherhood centers around Anakin and Obi-Wan during the early years of the Clone Wars and expands on how their relationship evolved from Padawan and master to brothers. This is not Chen’s first foray into the galaxy far, far away. He was also involved in the 2020 book From A Certain Point Of View: The Empire Strikes Back, an anthology of stories by many authors detailing and re-imagining the stories from the original trilogy (or Empire Strikes Back in this particular volume), told through the eyes of the background characters.

Do the Prequels Work as a Trilogy?
The prequel trilogy, love them or hate them, they sure have left their mark on Star Wars. There have been many critiques of the trilogy over the years, however one critique that hasn’t been brought up that many have talked about is; Do the prequels work as a trilogy? Do all three films culminate into one epic finale? Do all the plot threads started with The Phantom Menace finish nicely in Revenge of the Sith. Well perhaps we should take a look at The Phantom Menace and see what went on, what was left behind, and what was added in the middle.

The Best Musical Pieces From Each 'Star Wars' Movie Part 3 (The Original Trilogy)
Although the original trilogy movies are, chronologically, the "middle" trilogy in the Skywalker Saga, they were the first batch of Star Wars movies produced and, as such, John Williams' compositions for these films laid the groundwork for the subsequent trilogies. Presented here are the best musical pieces from each of the original trilogy movies. Nearly all the cues have been released on CD and digital download, although the expanded soundtrack releases with detailed liner notes and demos seem to be out of print at this time. Disney remastered and re-released the original scores to these movies on CD,LP, and digital download in recent years, which contain most of the essential cues from the original trilogy movies. A re-release of the expanded scores would definitely be welcome, eventually.

'The Force Awakens' Was Originally Going To Include Luke's Severed Hand According To Mark Hamill
One of the most iconic moments in Star Wars is the first on-screen confrontation between our hero, Luke Skywalker, and the vile villain, Darth Vader. This duel, beginning in the Cloud City carbon freezing chamber and raging throughout the cities infrastructure, has some of the most stunning visuals, breathtaking moments, and intense choreography of the trilogy. It is also the prelude to a scene that has been canonized into the halls of timeless pop culture. The revelation that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. This revelation is made all the more world-shattering, for audiences as well as Luke, due to Vader's mutilation of Luke moments before, securing victory in their duel. With a looping parry, Vader knocks aside Skywalker's blade and slices through his wrist, sending Luke's hand and weapon careening down through the abyss below Cloud City.

Major Sequel Trilogy Character Makes An Appearance In 'The High Republic' Series
Star Wars: The High Republic is a canon multimedia project released in 2021, which covers the High Republic Era, almost two hundred years prior to the events of The Phantom Menace. It was the golden age of the Jedi Order and the Republic. The threat from the Sith and the Dark Side was non-existent. The Jedi flourished as they traveled through the galaxy, aiding those in need. This was unlike the Jedi of the Prequel Trilogy, who were mostly sequestered in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. One of the projects within this era is The High Republic Adventures comic book series published by IDW. Aimed at younger readers, the series follows a group of Padawans travelling the galaxy under the watchful eye of Master Yoda. The recent issue, #9 of the series, brings excitement to readers as we see the appearance of a certain popular character from the Sequel Trilogy. It has already been established that Master Yoda was one of the main characters in the series. However, he became one with the Force in Return of the Jedi, and only appeared as a Force spirit in the Sequel Trilogy. Who else could be around during the High Republic era who was still alive almost 268 years later into the time of the sequel trilogy?

The True Greatest Tragedy Of Darth Vader Revealed
Star Wars: Visions has been another fine addition to the Star Wars franchise. This anthology of anime shorts has provided an alternate look at the Star Wars universe; nine different point-of-views to be exact. While none of the episodes are part of the current canon, they gave us a glimpse at what could have been in the established canon. The episode that mirrors the original Star Wars story most closely is Akakiri, which translates to “red fog.”

These Two Characters Will Have The Rematch Of The Century In 'Kenobi'
The duel of the fates between Darth Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi is epic, no doubt. However, it pales in comparison to the duel between Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and Kenobi at the end of Revenge of the Sith. The encounter on Mustafar is easily the best lightsaber battle of the entire saga. Since last December, we know that the Jedi Master and his fallen student will meet again in something that Kathleen Kennedy called “the rematch of the century”.

Why Stormtroopers Deserve More Respect
Any evil empire in science fiction worth its salt needs an army to enforce its tyrannical rule. In the Star Wars universe this role is filled by the imposing Imperial stormtroopers. Their armor alone is so iconic: a ghastly white shell evocative of a skull that strikes fear into the hearts of their enemies. From the moment they boarded Princess Leia’s ship we know they mean business.

How The Galactic Civil War In Canon Differs From Legends
The Galactic Civil War is the main conflict of the Original Trilogy. It is the story of the Rebel Alliance facing off against an evil Galactic Empire. It is the conflict in which Luke, Han and Leia fought against Darth Vader and the Emperor. Where the Death Star I and II blew up. That is about it when it comes to similarities between how the Galactic Civil War plays out in Canon and Legends. When one examines the events of the canonical Galactic Civil War compared to what happens in Legends, one will see these events start to diverge. Massively diverge.

Star Wars Twitter Page Shares Beautiful 'Visions' Concept Art
For years, Star Wars fans have shared fan art and even short videos imagining Star Wars characters and situations in Japanese-style animation, a vision that draws on the influence that Japan has had on the franchise, specifically the legendary Japanese Samurai, which heavily inspired George Lucas' vision of the Jedi Knights. Lucasfilm, now in the Disney era, has seemingly answered fans' wishes by producing and releasing Star Wars: Visions, a nine-part anthology series that explores different characters and situations within the Star Wars universe and cutting across various timeframes all done in Japanese-style animation and boasting an all-star voice cast, which includes Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, David Harbour, Neil Patrick Harris, Lucy Liu, George Takei, and even Temuera Morrison, returning to voice a certain famous bounty hunter.

Lucasfilm Is Very Interest In Creating More Non-Cannon Star Wars Content
With the release of Star Wars: Visions, Lucasfilm seems to be wanting to focus on Star Wars content that isn’t all canon. Star Wars: Visions recently premiered on Disney+ and follows short vignettes and stories throughout the Star Wars universe, featuring primarily new characters. The series is produced in different animated styles by prominent animation and anime companies which makes for some really beautiful imagery and stories different from anything we’ve seen before. With Star Wars: Visions’ release, comes the question: Is Lucasfilm going to be doing more non-canon Star Wars content?
