The Autumn Equinox
The equinoxes are the solstices are harbingers of the changing of the seasons. Twice a year the earth tilts to a right angle to the sun and the sun is directly over the equator. Basically this configuration of earth and sun means that both hemispheres receive almost the same amount of light as they do dark.

Are Ants More Human Than Us?
I became the proud owner of an Uncle Milton’s Ant Farm as a gift. I sent in my form and awaited my ants. The day they arrived was a happy one. Several had died in transport. This was to be expected as the mail service is not the most gentle of ways to send living creatures. I followed the directions and introduced them to their new home.

Love Is in the Hair
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past six months, I’m sure you are aware of the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. How Does Ebola Work?
An article published in 2018 by Younan, et al. titled “Disabling of lymphocyte immune response by Ebola virus,” draws to attention some interesting associations between lymphopenia, a significant reduction in T cells, and an Ebola virus infection. Most specifically, the author shows how the level of lymphopenia in a patient correlates to survival or fatality. Although the article lacks statistical findings and experimental data, it still provided relevant insight into some mechanisms behind Ebola infections, as well as future prospects in the area of therapeutics.

The Future of Our Brains
Technological advancement and development have allowed us to understand our bodies and the way we work more than ever before. Innovations in both science and technology have led us to cure most diseases that were present on earth for centuries. Recent companies like Kernel and Neuralink develop technologies to understand and treat neurological diseases and with the information gathered, they hope to create applications and implants to enhance the brain. Research and technologies to cure brain disorders are a must and would have a huge positive impact in our world, but looking past that to create enhancement and applications for the brain would be changing the authenticity of what a being human is and taking life to another level that we’ve never even dreamed of. Progress in neuroscience has cured and helped many suffering from disorders, yet there is still a lot more research and technologies to develop to fully understand the brain, and wanting to enhance it with applications and implants is a lot more dangerous than we might expect.

Using Neural Stem Cell Therapy to Treat TBIs
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells found inside the body and have the capability of generating lineage-specific cells. Neurons are different from other cells in our body because they don't undergo mitosis and division after determination and differentiation.

Science Has Not Failed Us
Science has not necessarily failed the human race. It is the politics behind new discoveries that fail the human race, not science itself. We have advanced our technology because of the way we work on scientific discoveries. Ever since the invention of iron for swords, the human race has steadily invented other ideas. Science is something we all need to understand. It might yet cure the human race from our sufferings. Scientific advances such as the discovery of insulin helped talented type-1 diabetics remain in the gene pool when before 1920, people just slowly wasted away.
