science fiction
The bridge between imagination and technological advancement, where the dreamer’s vision predicts change, and foreshadows a futuristic reality. Science fiction has the ability to become “science reality”.
The Alien and the Kid
One evening just before dinner, a young boy stood outside throwing a yellow tennis ball into the air and catching it with his hand. He tossed it up into the air and then caught it. Upon tossing it up into the air, though, the soft ball disappeared. He looked up and saw a glistening silver object. The ball floated down to him, not tossed. The boy caught the ball and ran from the silver object. He hid behind the trash bins and watched from his hiding space.

Tychus' Pub
It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday as the regular crowd shuffles in. No, I’m not singing the lyrics to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man,” it’s just an awkward coincidence that today happened to start out exactly the same way. I may also have the song stuck in my head and am humming it softly to myself. I am a piano man, after all.

Wings
I saw her fall—right out of the sky and into a crumpled heap on the cold canyon floor. I saw the shaky movements that jumbled together to form steps, and I saw the tears and frustration on her face as glorious white wings spread and reached back toward the sky, but there was no wind to carry her home. I waited till her sobbing fury became only echoes in the canyon, then I approached. I didn’t say anything. I just crouched next to her broken spirit and waited for her to climb out of her tears. I didn’t wait long. Swollen eyes glanced slowly over me and I saw shattered irises hiding a broken soul. There was a touch of disdain that flickered as I offered my hand.

'Prospect': An Original Futuristic Film by Dust
With reboots and prequels happening to favorite TV shows and movie franchise, it’s nice to see original movies coming out on the big screen, and it’s even better when the movie is filled with action, suspense, and great characters. This is what Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label Dust introduced to attendees at Los Angeles Comic Con this past weekend (October 26 to October 28, 2018) with their futuristic film Prospect.
