With constant changes to the environment all around us, it can make it difficult on a lot of what we do. The Amazon Is on Fire but There Is Hope. Top Story - August 2019.
2019 has not been kind to the Amazon Rainforest with more than 40,000 fires across the region this year alone. Scientists from Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research have determined that this year alone has seen the fastest rate of burning since the organization began a record-keeping survey on the health of the rainforest in 2013. In fact, the toxic smoke from the fires is so intense that many parts of Brazil now lay under darkness, and in some places, hours before the sun could even start setting.

The Big Future of Tiny Houses (Part 3)
Going off-grid is most people's ideal when they make the shift to tiny living. It merely means you don't need to rely on mains for power or water, and can significantly lower your cost of living after the initial outlay. Equipping your house for alternative power also increases its value, should you eventually wish to sell it, and makes it easier to take your home on the road and park wherever the fancy takes you.

Putting a Little Green in your Workplace
You may be considering the question of how to make your workplace more green, or environmentally friendly. To keep things simple, making a workplace green can be looked at in a similar manner of making a residence green. Starting there will mean that the things that are similar to a residence will be considered first, as they can be considered the proverbial "low hanging fruit." With that in mind, the focus will be on alternative energy options, energy efficiency, and waste minimization.

Why We Have to Get Serious About Our Planet
This morning, the Starbucks barista noticed the writing on my reusable cup, which read, “Saving the turtles," with the most adorable little turtle that my boyfriend drew. She goes, “I love this so much! Go you!” Naturally, we started talking about the environment and the uprising of reusable straws. I know that all of you have seen at least one Instagram ad, I know I’ve seen my fair share.

Our Planet
I recently watched a Netflix special Our Planet. In the series, it talks about how humanity is destroying the planet. It talks about how different parts of the world are affected by global warming; from the Atlantic to the Rainforest to under the Sea. With the amount of global warming and pollution in the world, it's causing the polar ice caps to melt. Within the next 5,000 years, there will be nothing left of the ice caps. Leaving the average temperature of the Earth at 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58.

Climate Crisis: Argentina and the United Kingdom
In February 2019, I went to the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. I was shocked to see the way things were in the capital, small things from free plastic straws in convenience stores, to huge bins with mixed waste. This was an incredible difference I noticed, when comparing the country to the United Kingdom. So why doesn't the government of Argentina follow that of the United Kingdom, making reforms to the way recycling works, and tackling some of the problems contributing to the growing Climate Crisis?
