The Bur's Curse
A foreword: this story was written by me a long time ago as a part of a dark fantasy series, yet stood out somehow, transforming into a standalone story. It participated in a fantasy story competition (a local one, called “The descendants of Tolkien”) and gained praise from the judges, winning the “Judges’ choice” award. Later on, it was accepted into the Russian horror-story magazine “Fantomas”; its artists have done a tremendous job illustrating the story. Hope you enjoy it!

Cash on the Kitchen Counter
“Shopping list!” he celebrated. No sooner had my grandfather dropped his pen beside the book when a dozen eggs and a container of milk appeared on the kitchen counter. I was five years old at the time so I hadn’t yet experienced anything in my life that would dissuade me from the presumed normality of this event. Indeed, grandpa’s behavior seemed to attract weirdness wherever he went. I made no connection between his oftentimes strange life and the little black book he kept in his denim smock pocket. After he died, however, and I discovered the book on a shelf in his workshop, I got a clearer picture of his magical life.

Nature Reborn
“Come my darlings, the time has come.” The old woman calmly spoke to the seemingly empty room around her as she gathered 6 small glowing crystals of varying colors, placing them delicately in a small hand basket lined with pure black silk. Next, she picked up a small black leather book, appearing to be some type of journal, and added it to the basket as well. The woman's movements were slow and made with great effort. She donned a long cloak seemingly made of several fabrics of many colors and shades expertly woven, appearing seamless. She grabbed her basket of supplies and as she opened her door to depart her home she paused, took a slow sad look around as if saying goodbye, pursed her lips and blew a firm quick stream of breath, at which every source of light within the small cottage extinguished, save for the small glow of the crystals in the basket. This show of magic was immediately followed by a fit of coughs and wheezing. She passed through the door and slowly, weakly, but with great purpose and determination walked straight ahead down a stone path leading into the surrounding woods, not sparing a single glance back before passing the tree line.

Princess of an empire
My name is cristy Jones. All my friends call me cris. Well they would if I had any friends. I was born into one of the richest families in the world. Everyone envied my family and always sought to find ways to destroy us. Tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday and I haven’t seen my mom and dad since I was five years old. They said they sent me away to protect me from the dangers of the world and from all of their enemies. Turns out this was a lie I found a yesterday from one of the guards in the prison (girls school)that I’m in that just didn’t want a daughter. The year After I left they welcomed a son into this world. He is now heir to the throne. I have been raped abused and starved everyday for the last eleven years. Tomorrow while everyone is asleep I am going to get out of here. I will start my adult life somewhere else where I never have to be afraid again. First thing I have to do is find where my grandmother hid her special gift for me. The only clue I have is it is in the area where I first found true love. Look inside the small black book this will change your life. Once you find the little black book your destiny begins. Oh sorry did I forget to mention that I am a very rare and powerful pink wolf?. Well I am my wolfs name is primrose she is the oldest wolf that has ever existed. She only comes to earth every 8000 years. She and I have been a team since the first day I was raped and shifted at age six. Nobody knows she exists and we had to keep her existence a secret until I became of age and strong enough to harness her powers. Today is the day it is my birthday and In a few hours I am out of here. Everyone is in class right now so I have five hours to find this book and get out of here. I cautiously open my door and peek around the corner the cost is clear. Aguimay invisibloty I whisper as I will my wolf to help me remain invisible and mute my scent to keep us safe until we can get out of here. I let primrose take control as she seems to know the place where I found true love. It’s strange because conscious mind has no clue of where I ever felt love or safe let along true love. Cristy are you there primrose asked? Yes I can hear you I say. Don’t be mad but the reason you have no memory of the place of true love is because I wiped your memory of this place and of your mate primrose said. WHAT!!!! I yelled before I realized what I did I took control back of my body right in the middle of the headmistresses office. Oh shit I am in trouble. It seems that we where headed to the underground garden in her office. I tried to run but I was captured and now I’m hanging from a cell wall bound with silver the way I have been for the last four years since that fateful day. I haven’t heard anything from primrose since then because I have blocked all connection with her until I am ready to forgive her. That never seems like it will happen. I know she is there because she is keeping my body strong and awaiting the day we become a team

Death Academy
A flash. A light. A whisper. And suddenly he was not where he was before. Morton, who had just ventured to end his own life, found himself in an uncertain place. He thought he would be in Heaven, Hell, Purgatorio, or somewhere in between, but this felt like a familiar place - a university.

Into the Twilight
The bell to Mr. Bibli’s Wonderful Book Store rings as yet another wide-eyed customer enters. Ashen, a quiet young man, dusts the bookshelves of the store as the giddy customers browse around making various “oos” and “awws.” Being an employee here for the past five years Ashen doesn’t blame the customers' excitement. Mr. Bibli’s store was known for being a wild attraction filled with tall bookshelves that reach the 50ft ceiling and is home to the rarest books from all over the world.

Goddess, May I Please
Twenty years ago, the Gods announced themselves to the world. They came down upon the earth with a mighty force that caused a series of world-wide earthquakes. No one was harmed, but many were left in fear of their power. The Gods told us their will, their desire for all suffrage to end. They wanted to bring peace upon us and create a utopia.

The Fairy Godfathers Assistant
Today sucked. Really, really sucked. Have you ever had one of those days where Murphy's Law wasn't just active but doing the mambo on your karma? Yeah, that is my day. Murphy is an ass. Then again, what did I expect when my parents had the audacity to moon fate by naming me, Jinx. Jinx Fairweather Reginald Du Vua at your service. Gee! Thanks, mom and dad! You're the best. I groaned, staring at my mentor, waiting for the old geezer to finally get to his point.

Excerpts from: Autobiography Of A Lost Royal Bloodline.Chapter I : "If I could only dream."
SIX NATIONS INDIAN RESERVATION LOCATED IN SOUTHERN ONTARIO, CANADA. There's a flurry of snowfall, darkness is all around, except for what the moon chooses to light up through the cloudy sky. There's a pack of wolves hunting me, closing in from the distance.

Inbu’s Heart 7/10
Servants of the church were people that Prince Inbu had a lot of respect for. They submitted themselves to the royal family, the church, and to charity. A part of him felt bad that he had got them involved, especially the nuns. Every nun that he met were kind, even the strict ones that taught him how to read and write. He didn't know weather it got him anywhere, as he had servants that read to him, and servants that wrote on his behalf. His calligraphy was nowhere near as neat as it was five years ago, but the fact he could read and write opened up job opportunities for when his father exiled him.
