Chronicles of the Sun and Moon
Our story begins in a distant world on the island continent of Priya which has been ravaged by a war between two kingdoms, Lusitania and Cyranon, that has lasted for thousands of years with no one truly knowing how it began. The forest atop the cliffs makes up the borders Kingdom of Lusitania which is home to all manner and mixes of demon descendants. Everything beyond the cliffs to the East belongs to the human Kingdom of Cyranon, now beneath the canopy of the Forest, our tale begins to unfold.

Desert Mermaids and Other Anomalies
To say Anne-Marie Buchamp was an overachiever was an understatement. Frankly, it was her father’s fault for leaving such huge shoes to fill with his solo quests by ocean or by foot in the desert. In the realm of archaeology, he was a legend—but Anne-Marie had learned that often that moniker came with a price: usually you had to be dead to gain it. As a proud Buchamp, however, she had excelled in her studies at the Academia of Florence while also achieving high marks in extracurriculars like fencing and martial arts. Her one disappointment was that she had yet to perfect her Latin.

The Golden Orb
Today is a new day, but it feels off just as any other. I am still stuck in my loop of axiomatic late-night mistakes. I have a problem...but that's what life’s about, isn’t it? Well anyway, in the shower I go to wash away the residue of smut from my mind, body, and soul. Someone once told me water has healing properties or something witchy like that. Let's hope they're right because I sure need it. I think I want to look how I feel today. So yeah a T-shirt, hoodie, sneakers, dark glasses for the win, and I’m out the door.

The hungry book
I feel myself falling into an abyss of whiteness. That feeling, like falling back into my body after a dream of flying - yet now I fall away from my self, my face indistinct in the distance, the brown ceiling of the classroom I'd been in zooming out until it was but a brown speck consumed by emptiness.

Corrupted Wishes
Turning Eighteen is a huge milestone for everybody, I know that. Officially an adult, so many doors have been opened to you that had previously been closed. You feel as if you are on top of the world at the same time as having to carry it’s burdens. I know that it’s the same for everybody. At least I thought it was the same. I thought I knew what to expect when it came to be my turn. I thought I was prepared. I’d believed myself ready. How wrong I was. It turns out that turning eighteen is not the same experience for everyone. Don’t get me wrong, receiving a large sum of money and a black little notebook from an unknown benefactor is all well and good, and then learning your destiny, or future career path which is pretty much a guaranteed job, is great. Well, it seems great. Those adult burdens you were worried about? Just brush them off your shoulder, you’re all set for life. Everything is lined up for you. Unless that is, if you are me.

Hereditary
Early morning light filtered through the gauzy curtains and I squeezed my eyes shut even tighter. I was having such a good dream. There had been aliens and a fantastical dimension that I’d somehow ended up in, the undulating scenery around me full of bright colors, colors I didn’t even know existed. I’d had these same kind of dreams as a child, but the more time I spent awake, the more the dream would slip away until it had all but disappeared. Sure enough, as sleep ebbed away and my mind started whirring once more, remembering it felt difficult, like trying to hold on to something slippery and wriggling and wet.

A Chance
“Time is running out. I cannot wait any longer, so; I must act now. I have mailed this to you because I know that you are the only one that I trust with this. The information that is within the pages of this black notebook is of the greatest importance. This book is everything! Keep it with you always. Never let It out of your sight. There are many who would do practically anything to obtain the knowledge that this book carries. Do not hesitate; any delay may cost us dearly.”
