Ode to the Pirate Queen
Some say she never existed at all, that she was just a tale made too big to go away and disappear into the grand blue. She had no name—or, if she did, it was lost to the waves which claimed her—but she was known. Women like that didn't just charm men with their rouged lips and their pretty words; it wouldn't have surprised any of us if she charmed the sea with a shanty she had heard on the winds, born from the mouths of sirens who sung our sailors down to Poseidon's gate.

Kenya’s Story
My world is, well boring. I don’t know how else to describe it. Nothing happens here. It’s not like the old earth. My Dad would tell my brother and I stories of old earth. How it was so worn out and depleted of anything useful, that they had to start salvaging space junk just to build the ships to get us to this world. Stories of war and how there was always someone trying to control everyone. He told us of stories people made up, of aliens from other worlds coming to save the world. It never happened, but people wanted it so bad.

Hiding in the Light
When I got to my house, Charlotte was sitting on the front porch waiting for me. As I got out of my truck she walked up to the railing. “About time you got back Uncle Dante.” I shook my head and laughed. “What brings you out here Pika-cute?” She stuck her tongue out at me. “Thank you for waiting until there was no one else around to bring up that nickname.” She held up an insulated bag. “I brought ice cream. I figured you'd forget.” I shrugged and grinned. “You're probably right. Come on in and I'll get us some spoons.”

Mirrored
It's my thirteenth birthday tomorrow. Tomorrow is also Mirror Day and I truly just can not wait. I never thought about my own Mirror Day before, it was ages away and anyway, I didn't care about all the hoopla everyone makes. Besides, once someone was

The Alchemist's Practice Chapter 10
Edric returned to Nuumad's Blessing with a pack filled to the brim with the forest's bounty. It was well past noon when he arrived, and so it was empty of villagers. He noticed Wynn with a cup of tea in front of her and a book in her hands.

Petals on the Sand
The morning sun shines through the palm trees as the shadows danced from the light that glistened on my cheeks. The sandy ground had a warmth that was comfortable like an old blanket and I was wrapped inside of it. I sat up, a bit unaware of where I was and brushed myself off as best as I could. I Looked around and saw the beauty which was before me. I didn’t know why I was there or how I got there but I was glad I was in a safe place.

THE FALLING OF THE FACTORY
Daniel heard the dry branches and leaves breaking under the wheel of his wheelchair, progressing gradually through the lopsided desolate landscape. Indeed, even at his lethargic speed, his back shook because of the stones encompassing the workshop's nurseries. A charming smell discovered its way through his old shaggy nostrils, filling his lungs with pleasantness as he walked around the fog.

Pirate Outcast
Pirate Outcast Chapter 1 Sea Gully Flames darted across the campfire in the midnight breeze. Ramsey looked up to the twinkling stars and moon peaking beneath the hazy clouds. He turned his head to the crackling sound of the embers burning took a big whiff, “Ah, nothing like the smell of a toasted logs on a cool night.” Glancing to his left was his dear friend Billy, his dirty blonde hair dangling in front of his eyes suddenly flew with the wind gust. While, Ramsey only had brown locks, he envied the natural highlights his best friend had. Billy's blue eyes caught attention and stared deeply into Ramsey almost golden eyes. Secretly, Billy coveted that unique gold hue, even though his own eyes were unique. Billy was white with freckles on his cheekbones, while Ramsey had a mysterious almost Polynesian skin tone.
