Artificial Intelligence: Can It Replace Human Intelligence?
What is Artificial Intelligence? The definition of Artificial Intelligence is the theory and development of computer systems able to learn and develop as humans do. A broad term, it is often broken down into three areas of study: - Narrow AI focuses on specific problems and tasks, like playing a specific game, scheduling tasks, etc. - General AI focuses on creating machines that are as intelligent as humans in every way. This is many decades away from becoming a reality. - Artificial Superintelligence focuses on machines that are more intelligent than humans. This is many decades away from becoming a reality. The term “intelligence” is often used to mean “the capacity for acquiring knowledge and understanding and using this to solve problems.” Artificial intelligence is therefore about creating machines that can acquire knowledge and understand and solve problems. Machines don’t have to look like a human, but they have to function in ways that are normally associated with human beings.
