Reflection of time, money, and a book from somewhere.

What would you do if you had to ability to alter time and fate? Would you end slavery? Put a stop the holocaust by ending Hitler? Save the ones you love or see what truly happened in pas events? But, let me stop here I am going to far and starting to lose my train of thought here. My name is Zedd Aldis Bridge I was 27 years old when all this craziness started. By the way I know my name is one letter different from the word seed. I’ve heard all the dumb jokes so save it. Thank you.

Okay, I was an out of the box person really the oldest of 5 kids. Quiet well maybe a little too dang quiet, slightly overweight, straight black guy. You may be asking why I had to put the straight part in there. Let’s say for policies sake I needed to make that clear just in case it ends up in some awkward conversion in the 2018-2030 timeline. Before things changed for me, I was broke working a dead-end job for the last 6 years. But I can say thanks to that job my life may have never became this interesting.

I worked for a security company called Securitas and was stationed at site called U.S. Ecology. At my job we dd routine patrol at every hour we walk the grounds. It was 03:22 when I was on my way back to the camera room when I saw a shape falling out the sky. My first thoughts were: 1) Run into another one of the buildings for safety. 2) Start making phone calls while walking towards the falling thing. 3) Hide behind one the trucks, watch the thing fall, and turn on the camera setting on my phone.

Unfortunately, when god make the idea for ice the devil morphed it into a weapon because I tripped and fell into the snow. As I lay there, I hear nothing not a bang or a boom just nothing at all. So, after dusting myself off I went to check it out. Now, if this were the start of some Sci-Fi Horror movie, I would be the dumb first victim for checking it out. But I figured if it was something good like the watch from Ben 10 I mitis well take it for myself. So, I when toward where it landed which as by some of the semi-truck trailers. Pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight and there it was sitting in the snow. A book…a book of all things I mean really. A god dang gone book!!

So, I poked the book with a metal broom stick to check if it was still hot. Then used said stick in the snow thank the love of god it was not hot. So, picked it up took it to the room put It in my bag and called the plant manager. Told him that something hit the ground from the from the sky but told him didn’t see anything in the hole. After my coworker arrived to relieve me so I can go home took a LYFT and kept my mouth shut the entire time. When I got home, dropped my stuff at the door opened the bag and grabbed the book.

The book in question seemed like it was made of all black leather and the pages of white/gold color mixture. Both the cover and the back of the book was completely blank. So, I flip through the pages thinking maybe there is some writing in the book about the owner. Everything about the book is blank until the last 5 pages. In which I dropped the book and jumped back like some madman. Why? The first page said “HEY!! To the idiot me who got this cursed book again welcome to the goddamn club!!” Now I’m freaking out like crazy over the scary and yet intriguing discovery of my life.

So, I screw it I’m going to get ready for bed and will think on this thing in the morning. Unfortunately, I cannot sleep like at all, but I still do not want to go messing with that book yet. Time to close my eyes and listen to the sound of silence. It was around 11:00 when I finally woke up with a slightly refreshed mind. Go into the living room, slap myself for breaking black code when dealing with the supernatural if this is what this is. And then begin to read what was supposedly left for me by me.

Welcome back me yeah, I know how I would act if someone left a message claiming that they were me. Well, at least the old me I guess I would have to say anyway. Given how paranoid we are it was a definite possibility you’d drop the book and dip. Only to come back and pick it up again to finally read the thing. But, hey you can’t change who you are in such a short period of time. Listen up I know you probably still have doubts about we being the same person. I know all your current passwords including the wifi and stuff you do not talk about.

So, to get this started as of right now I am currently on some borrowed time. You think with a book that can mess with time you can do whatever. But there are those hidden rules that you shouldn’t break in which I sort of did.

• Rule number 1: KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT EVEN UNDER THREAT!! Not keeping quiet about the thing not only puts you at extreme risk but everyone who is connected to you.

• Rule number 2: DO NOT MESS WITH ANIMALS IN THE PAST IT DOES NOT END WELL AT ALL!!!

• Rule number 3: The Butterfly Effect and Final Destination movies had it right you don’t try to save one in the past. Not even if you think if it would benefit humanity, death don’t play like that.

• Rule number 4: If you use the book to get money modesty is the best and safest policy. People get way way to curious if you start winning too much money, especially the governments. Yes, you have read that right I said governments spy drones are annoying to deal with.

• Rule number 5: In the event that you dropped something in the wrong timeline such as a let’s say a perfected plasma blade from Hacksmith Industries. You done messed up and the only way to fix it is to get rid of the thing who picked it up or get it first. You can’t believe how hard it is you get something you lost in the past. Cyber monkeys are horrible to deal with and may god help the unfortunate soul who get in their way.

Like you I found the book a work but instead of keeping my mouth shut I told some people I was close to. After figuring out how to use the thing, write a date and clear image of the location. Darnell, Tris, Mikal, and I started messing around the time stream after getting lotto numbers, stocks, and pyramid schemes. We were raking in the dough 20,000 here a 421,000 there but after a while money started to seem meaningless. Money solves a lot and creates a lot of problems, so Darnell brought up the idea about getting cool stuff from both the past and future. You would think getting cool stuff from multiple times wouldn’t be so hard. With a book that alters time itself it would be an easy snatch and grab?

That there’s no way things can go wrong well…it can and very quickly might I add. Why? Because, when mess with time with others everybody has an opinion. We went from thieves taking things like the Sengo Muramasa, Superman issue #1, and launch codes from the American government. Along, with seeing the sights like The Rumble In The Jungle in 1974 to jazz concerts in 1910 to1945. Then became historical assassins taking out people like A. Hitler, J. Earl Ray, and J. Stalin. Just because you have the best intentions in mind does not always end well.

For example, let’s say that Japan had taken over the United States and Mexico turning the most of continent into New Japan. Korea had finally unified, and the war between religion is finally over. The rest of the states that weren’t taken by Japan was split between China Canada. Sure, the upside is that the technological advancement spread is a lot faster and the major beauty of amazing healthcare is a plus But, not when the government gains absolute control of the flow of time. Unfortunately, for us who was caught with a wide array of historical contraband. We were ugh we were literally screwed with no alibi.

Insert dangerous situation here and there we were now international war criminals. Having be charged with blowing up multiple buildings and personal property. A few hundred deaths not that they were completely our fault mind you. The new government omits to taking no L’s apparently because every time we went, they were on us. With all the too close to call moments we had on our lives someone was going to snap sooner or later. Even now I cannot blame the others the thought crossed my mind to turn ourselves in. But nonetheless things to me did not take a turn for the worse. Until… Tris got hit during a skirmish in France during the battle of Paris. A stray shell caught her and a few of our pursuers. While the rest of us got blown back by the force of the impact which injured Darnell’s leg and the heat burned my left eye.

None of us were prepared for that or what happened next. We got ambushed in Yorkshire, England a deal was made a few time hops ago with Mikal and New Japan on the condition that Darnell gets his injuries treated. Furthermore, that we don’t get the death penalty but instead a reduced sentence and the opportunity to clean up our mess. However, the government needed to make an example of course so I was it the idiot who started the hole thing.

I managed to escape for a day, but they found me yet again except this time I am finally thinking clearly. It is only a matter of time now before the reinforced door to the safe I’m in gives way. Why not start this blunder from the beginning? But how I probably erased home and everything I had? Ding a ring ding winner chicken dinner I wrote everything I did along with this. Yeah, I hear you saying how when the door was getting gutted. Fear and adrenaline do wonderful things man especially when you know your about to break Rule#3. Good luck me and stay the hell out of trouble really would hate to live this a second time you know.

After reading the pages in the book all I could think of all that is a lot of nope. But he if you can really say that was right, I am intrigued at the possibilities. Time to get started on changing my life for a slightly and most definitely interesting quiet life. Nah right now I needed to make some money first then peace and quiet later.
