Purple Sense

You are walking alone in a forest and come up to a tree that has bright purple globs of sap seeping from it. No other tree around the area shows signs of similarities. The scent that is protruding from the sap is sweet and captivating.

As you reach out to touch it, you can feel its heat emerging from the globs. Knowing what you know about ovens, the sap might burn you, or it might not. However, the scent is like nothing you have ever smelt, and it may be something wonderful that could change the world.

The heat that was expelled from the purple glob was intense, so you quickly pulled your hand away from it and decided to leave it alone, it was not worth getting burned over. However, the scent that filled your nose started to get stronger and more alluring.

This was not normal. Trees don’t release purple substance, well at least not from where you lived.

As the scent grew stronger, the appearance did as well. It looked to grow around the tree in a vertical fashion as if consuming the tree.

You took a step back, worried that it would somehow touch you. And as you did, you tripped over a stick causing you to fall towards the tree and grasp the purple glob. The purple glob surrounded you in mear milliseconds, and you found yourself stuck and incapable of breathing.

The glob started to pulsate all around you, squeezing your every bone. You knew that there was no way out, so you decided to just let it take you fully and submit to it.

The purple glob crawled into your nose and your ears, and you could feel it grasping your lungs for what felt like forever. You closed your eyes, knowing death was right around the corner.

A bright light appeared through your closed eyes, and as you opened them you realized you were laying on the ground. Your eyes were still blurry, but as they adjusted, you noticed you were not in the forest anymore.

You were in an area that was surrounded by purple trees and large flowers that towered over your head. You felt a small breeze whip through your hair, and as it touched the trees and flowers a plume of glitter dust brushed off of them and flew into the wind.

You decided that this place was already super amazing compared to the world that you just left, and it Must be explored.

As soon as the glitter caught your eye, you ran straight towards it because there is something about glitter that you couldn’t resist. When you reached the glitter, it surrounded your body, and it started to get more luminescent and glass-like.

It flew all around your body and started to lift you off the ground, and as it did, the particles started to cut your legs as if it was alive. The glitter left deep punctures on your skin. You also noticed the glitter also left a sweet scent in the air that was extremely intense.

It was the most beautiful thing you have ever seen, and there was something about the glitter that made you feel calm and collected regardless of the abrasions it made around your body. But you still felt scared and were going higher up in the sky.

Your fate is left exclusively in the plume of glitter.

The glitter that surrounded your body was magnificent. No matter what it was doing to your body, you decided to let it fly and take you with it. It was as if it had a mind of its own.

It pulled you this way and that. Now and then you caught a glimpse of the world below you, and the colors of the place were bewildering. You noticed that the plume started to lower you back to the ground and your decent was sluggish.

Once you reached the ground, you found yourself back at the tree from where you first entered the world. The glitter lifted off of your skin and wrapped itself around the tree, pushing itself into the bark.

Soon the glitter was gone, but on the tree emerged another purple glob of sap. You were highly confused, but then remembered how bad your body hurt. As you looked down you saw your body was dripping with bright metallic blood.

You wished that the pain would stop, and as soon as you had that thought, the pain disappeared, leaving only a few blemishes of the blood on your legs. Startling you, the purple sap started to move down the tree closer to you.

It looked as if it was breathing, and it started to expel the sweet scent again. You couldn’t move and wished that you never went out for a walk in the forest, and stayed home.

Just then a bright light slashed before your eyes, and within a blink of an eye, you were back on your couch. You looked at your legs, and there were no signs of gashes, the metallic blood was gone, and the forest was gone, and best of all the purple sap glob was gone.

It was as if time rewound itself, and your walk never happened. Shaking your head, you choose to get up trying to tell yourself it was just a dream.

As you walked toward your bathroom to take a shower, you looked out of your window and into the tree line and saw a glimpse of a purple glob on one of the branches. No, this wasn’t real, it was all just a dream, none of it was even possible. Turning back to the shower you...
