Life is Hard, But At Least There’s Wi-Fi

Reality of Adulting

By Pure CrownPublished 9 months ago 3 min read

Let’s be honest—life is complicated. One minute, you’re a kid whose biggest problem is running out of cookies. The next, you’re an adult, and suddenly, everything costs money. Even breathing feels like it comes with hidden fees.

Bills? Endless. Responsibilities? Overwhelming. The cost of cheese? Absolutely criminal. But don’t worry, my friend—you’re not alone in this struggle. We’re all just slightly confused humans pretending to have it all figured out.

The Reality of Adulting

Remember when you were a kid and thought adults had all the answers? Hilarious. Now, we realize adulthood is just Googling things and hoping no one notices. Taxes? Google it. How to unclog a sink? Google it. How to pretend you're fine when you’re clearly not? Google it.

Then there’s the whole “waking up early” situation. As a child, waking up at 6 AM for cartoons was easy. Now? You’d rather negotiate with your alarm clock like it’s a hostage situation. “Just five more minutes, I promise I’ll be productive.” Spoiler alert: you won’t.

The Money Mystery

Can we talk about money for a second? Where does it go? You get paid, and before you blink, it’s gone. Bills, groceries, gas—poof! If your bank account could talk, it would just laugh at you.

Then there are “unexpected expenses.” They appear out of nowhere, like movie villains. Your phone screen cracks, your car starts making a noise that sounds expensive, or your favorite snack suddenly costs twice as much. Life is basically a never-ending game of how broke can you be before payday?

Social Media vs. Reality

Ah, social media—the place where everyone’s life looks perfect. Scrolling through Instagram feels like attending a party you weren’t invited to. People are vacationing in Bali, buying designer clothes, and drinking smoothies that cost more than your rent. Meanwhile, you’re at home, eating instant noodles and wondering if you can reuse a tea bag.

Let’s be real—nobody has it as together as they pretend. That couple posting cute selfies? They probably argued over what to eat right before that picture. That friend with the “dream job”? They’re crying in the office bathroom. We’re all just doing our best, and that’s okay.

Finding Joy in the Chaos

Despite all the madness, life has its moments. Like the joy of putting on fresh socks. Or finding money in your pocket you forgot about. Or when Netflix asks, “Are you still watching?” and you say “Absolutely, I am.”

Happiness isn’t in big, fancy things. It’s in laughing with friends, good food, warm coffee, and that one song that makes you dance like no one’s watching. It’s in realizing that, no matter how chaotic life is, you’re still here, still pushing forward, and still doing your best.

So, take a deep breath. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Nobody does. Not even that one friend who always seems to have their life together (they’re just better at hiding the chaos). Life is a giant, messy, unpredictable rollercoaster, and half the time, we’re just screaming our way through the loops.

But here’s the good news—you’re not alone. We’re all just winging it, hoping nobody notices. One day, you feel like a responsible adult, making healthy choices and paying bills on time. The next, you’re eating cereal for dinner and wondering if you can wear the same pair of jeans for the fourth day in a row (spoiler: you absolutely can).

So, enjoy the ride. Laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Find joy in the little things, like perfectly toasted bread or finding money in your pocket. Dance around your room like nobody’s watching (and if they are, charge them for the entertainment). Because at the end of the day, life is too short to stress over every little thing.

And remember: at least there’s Wi-Fi.

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” ☔ Now tell me—what’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you this week? Drop it in the comments!
