The Prophecy / Chapter 2
The dining room was as elegant as the ball room in Cinderella’s castle. It smelled of cheesy goodness and fresh lettuce. My stomach growled at the aroma filling the room. I see a small empty table over by the window overlooking the garden. I get settled in just in time as waiters in dark colored chef coats walked out delivering food to every table.

Playing With Fire
Prologue Not wanting to go in and face the demons from her past, she stood on the porch. With her hand shaking, she grabbed the doorknob and slowly opened the door. It was as dark as a moonless night inside the old house and finally working up the nerve, she stepped inside. Sealing her fate, the door suddenly swung shut with a bang loud enough to wake the dead.

Movie Review: 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' (2017)
Hello, one and all. As I told a friend of mine, the Star Wars Universe (which I'm abbreviating to SWU for the purposes of this review; not to be confused with SVU, which is a subsection of the NYPD, which is also a popular NBC police drama, but, now I'm getting off the beaten path here) was a universe that I wasn't to keen on beaming up to (now, that's a Star Trek reference — but OK, I'm back to the topic at hand). As a five-year-old over forty summers ago, I honestly thought it was a lame universe to inhabit. Robots, wookies, a black-helmeted/cloaked villain with the voice of James Earl Jones was just too much of a head-scratching idea for my young head. It certainly didn't help that TV kept pounding the movie's images ad nauseum and with constant repetition. A popular disco song based on the iconic John Williams score was just the tip of the iceberg. I actually made my mother take me to see the film's rival, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, just to shut out the irritating SW mania sweeping the land. That didn't help matters as my mother still chastises me to this day for sleeping through most of it! But, this was the one movie franchise that clicked — just wouldn't stop clicking ever since, much to my chagrin. So, you all know the inevitable cliche: "If you can't beat 'em..."

The Strange Case of Doctor Omega
For years as a Doctor Who fan, I've been vaguely aware of something called Doctor Omega. No, it isn't a spin-off of the long-running British science fiction series. In fact, it predates the BBC series by more than a half-century. Originally published in French as Le Docteur Oméga in 1906, this early science fiction novel with its tale of interplanetary exploration featuring a title character who is an old man with white hair certainly would seem on the surface to be quite like William Hartnell's First Doctor. Yet is there more to it than that? Is Doctor Omega the predecessor to Doctor Who?

Why I Celebrate Non-Modern Customs
I was baptized under the Protestant branch of Methodism. I went to church, did communion a couple of times, and attended every Easter and Christmas service. My mother told me and my sister whenever we get married, she will let us borrow her white wedding dress. She also said boyfriends who are potential suitors for husbandry must ask permission first and get us a diamond ring. But the one thing that kept bothering me was there was no explanation as to why we celebrate these holidays when we don't know where they originally came from. Why are we supposed to wear white when no other culture uses white? Why am I, or my sister for that matter, supposed to have a diamond ring when we think they are really useless and tacky?

Lives of Future-Past Chapters 2 & 3
Chapter Two Draagh "Lord Draagh, it appears all is going according to plan." An older, robed gentleman, possessing a medium-length beard with a long mustache stylishly braided within responded, saying, "Yes, Socrates. So far, that is."

'The Last Jedi': A Film Worth Loving
I don't get people who are saying that The Last Jedi ruined Star Wars. I knew I wouldn't be getting a typical Star Wars movie the second Luke said in the trailer that "it's time for the Jedi to end." I actually lost sleep over that line — thanks, Rian Johnson and Mark Hamill. I was practically panic-stricken, wondering what exactly I was in for when it came to Episode VIII.

Is Rey's Parentage Finally Explained in 'The Last Jedi'?. Top Story - December 2017.
*Spoilers* The Last Jedi tried to basically solve a lot of things, one way or the other. Some startling truths and some not so gentle breaking away of the standards of the old trilogy. But there was one question that had plagued every fan of the Force Awakens. And that was who is Rey and where does she come from? In The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren tells Rey that she has known all along and they were junk traders that sold her off for some drug money and basically ran off and died and were buried in unmarked graves on Jakku. This would be a great thing because it shows anyone from the galaxy could be a hero, not just of a particular family legacy (read: Skywalker). But were they really? Is Rey's origin story really that much of a non issue in the trilogy? Or is there some darker origin we do not know? Here are five reasons why this was not the case...
