A (Controversial) Explanation for the New 'Star Wars' Trilogy
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars; always have been. I love the escapist nature of the films, the hope, the action, and yes, even the love in the stories, and that will never change. I was not a big fan of the prequels. They have their place, and always will, but they too are important to Star Wars lore and history. I have not read very many of the Star Warsnovelizations, whether they are of the film adaptations or otherwise. That said, I have enjoyed what those have brought to the Star Wars universe as well, as I think the history surrounding the franchise only becomes richer for them.

Why the Upcoming 'Kenobi' Might Be More Important and Crucial Than 'the Last Jedi' for the Star Wars Franchise
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit theaters this past December and, of course, became another huge blockbuster for the franchise. Some may call it divisive to due a metric that is unstable, but for most people, it was one of the greats in 2017. Rian Johnson did an amazing job by killing the old so the new may thrive. Some didn't like it, but it was important for Star Wars as a franchise to grow and give the new characters the spotlight in the never-ending war in a galaxy far, far away.

Classic Science Fiction Books Everyone Should Read
Some of the grandest stories in sci-fi are found among the pages of the classics. In them, readers will find inventions of yesterday used in wonders unimaginable, giving science fiction and fantasy the proper characters, plot lines, and interesting battles that still touch imaginations far and wide. Some you may have heard or even read in school long ago, while others are so controversial they have somehow fallen out of memory.

Outrun Stories #41
This was the sort of place you went to die. When youth was all you had left to give, and even that had run out, there wasn’t much else that you could do other than go to a place like this and it took in all sorts. You’d walk in and every time you’d be surprised by all the different types you’d have in there. The amount of people never took you by surprise, but the types certainly did. Business man to family man, down and out to yuppie, I swear I’ve even seen a few clerics in there. Everyone’s got a problem at some time or another, and more often than not, when that problem runs too much, too high, too bad, you end up here and you better hope that you had something decent to sell in that brain of yours, otherwise, that’s when the real trouble would kick-in.

Does Time Exist?
Before we start I'd like you to know that I don't question the amazing power of math or the amazing genius of people like Einstein and Hawking. However, I do argue that life — or the universe as a whole — cannot be defined or conquered by math. It may be comforting to believe that the laws of the universe could be captured in a few simple or even complex mathematical equations, but I don't believe that they can or ever will be. Yes — math has done amazing things for our species! It's amazing that through the wonder of math we were able to discover things like black holes — or that black holes eventually evaporate... Math has and will continue to take us ever further into the realm of understanding. But taking math alone into account leads to things like a world with 10 dimensions (string theory) or 26 dimensions (bosonic string theory). We get blinded by the math. We can't see the forest for the trees. And this is where I think some of our smartest minds have missed the mark by getting so wrapped up in their math that they miss the subtle beauty of the truth.

Sympathy for the Devil: The Case for Satan’s Heroism
Last week, I was challenged to write an article arguing that Satan, as he is portrayed in the Bible, is actually the good guy. Thrilled by this opportunity to quite literally play devil’s advocate, I accepted the challenge. However, considering he’s been the universal symbol of evil for centuries, Lucifer proved himself to be quite easy to defend.

Where Is Your God?
“Oh god, how I miss this”. The devil in his human form looks up at earth’s sky with sinister glee. “To embody a man truly deserving my power and ambition is rare. However, I digress, I’m here with your lamb. The one you’ve chosen to let rule in your stead. I wonder, what makes her so special”? The devil stands in the middle of a green pasture full of life and God's creatures. The light is fading and a burning red glow emits from the horizon. Lucifer looks over to the dimming light and hellish glow.
