Superpowers: Could They Happen?
I've been fascinated with superheroes and superpowers ever since I was a little girl, creating my own and playing pretend. Though the one thing I've always wanted is for these powers to be real. So that's what I'm sought to find out; could these powers actually exist in the real world, what would these abilities do if they were real, what would they do to the human body and is having this power even possible for the human body to handle?

A Trip into the Woods
It flashed through the sky and then was gone. Lucy was sure she had seen a UFO and was equally sure aliens were here to secretly make contact with a human being. Maybe they would chose her, Maybe she would get to visit their ship. Maybe, just maybe she'd even get to visit another world, she thought as she drove towards the edge of the woods. Would she be able to breathe? Would she be able to understand their language? What did they eat? She had so many questions and could barely hide her excitement as her car screeched to a stop on the dirt shoulder of the road that stretched out for miles along this woods. She grabbed her flashlight and her backpack and jumped out of the car.

What Went Wrong with 'Solo' and What Does It Mean for Star Wars?
When Star WarsEpisode I: The Phantom Menace was announced, everyone became giddily excited at the prospect of a new adventure in the galaxy far, far away. However, when the movie released, fans were immensely disappointed at the lackluster acting, over the top drama, and of course, Jar-Jar Binks. Little did they know that such a display was to be the status quo for Star Wars for the next six years, as two more prequels came out that people were not very kind too. Naturally, people were disappointed that their beloved saga had been reduced to a melodramatic stage show in space. The fear that Star Wars would never recover would have surely been in people’s minds ten years later, as Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens was announced. Yet, as we all know, the movie exceeded all expectations and gave the fans a glimpse at how Star Wars could live on and not let itself be defined by an era long past.

'Lost in Space'
The Netflix reboot series Lost in Space hasn't received the best reviews. I have no idea why! I'm settling down to binge re-watch (yes, I am one of THOSE people!) what has become one of my favorite series. As I start the first season over, I am reminded why it blew me away upon its release in April 2018. I watched the original reruns of shows like Lost in Space, Green Acres, The Munsters, The Addams Family, Knight Rider, and The Love Boat growing up in the 1980s. Those were the best years of my childhood and I am always nostalgic for these shows! Even weekend morning cartoons were the best! Who else misses Bugs Bunny and the original Looney Tunes? Mother Earth
MOTHER EARTH Her body fits snuggly in the tub. Heavy legs emerge from calm waters, angling up to rest on the edge, varicose veins map blue highways beneath pasty white skin. Her ankles are slim, she has always been proud of them, but their slimness makes a mockery of the rest of her. She wonders idly if they resent the task of carrying her weight. As she lifts each leg to run a washcloth over her ankles, her eyes wander up to her knee. Shapeless, her leg stretches out and the knee disappears beneath folds of fat. She admires her ankles again.

The Watchmaker
Tick. “Damn clock…” Once again I found myself in that same hallway. It's seemingly never-ending rows of foggy windowpanes shifted in and out of the corners of my eyes as I continued my anxious gait down the red-carpeted floors. These hallways were so long. Like instances and stretches of life. Hours flowed like seconds here. I was used to it by now, this dream had been with me since my father’s condition had gotten worse. I had become accustomed to gazing into these windows. I would stand there for what seemed like a lifetime in this dream watching the events play out before my eyes. Lives, people, things I knew, things past, and things to come, things that could have been, and things that will never be. My timeline stretched across this maze of windows.
