The media has been recently flooded with campaigns and adverts all aimed towards reducing our waste and plastic consumption, and rightly so. With plastic production at its peak, millions of tonnes of single-use plastic items are being created and dumped. This is causing species numbers to decline, with turtles choking on plastic bags, dolphins dying from plastic rings, and many animals consuming the harmful products that end up in the ocean.

BIOTOPIA—What Does the Future Taste Like?
With the European elections just behind us, the echoing waves of the #FridaysforFuture movement, and general concerns for the future of our planet are still being heard. The worry about sustainable alternatives to our lifestyle is all-encompassing, and includes all generations. With this in mind, the Eat Festival organized by BIOTOPIA—the future biological sciences museum that will substitute the Museum Mensch und Natur in Munich—was the perfect entertainment after voting duty. I heard the topic of the festival (“Wie schmeckt die Zukunft?” or “What does the future taste like?” in English), and decided to volunteer for the event.

'The Power'
The Power is a 1968 science fiction drama based on a novel by the same name. The film stars George Hamilton as Professor Jim Tanner and Suanne Pleshette as Professor Margery Lansing. The Power was produced by George Pal, directed by Byron Haskin, and made at MGM studios. The movie is based on a 1956 novel written by Frank M. Roberson, and is a sci-fi/mystery drama that centers around two men with psi powers.
