In The Stars Challenge

It’s no longer a quirky question. Astrology is officially become mainstream, and checking astrology apps has become part of our morning routines. It only makes sense to wonder: what’s the deal with this cosmic art? What can we learn from connecting to the cosmos and understanding our birth charts? If you’re feeling astro-curious, I’m going to break down some of the basics.

The zodiac consists of 12 signs relative to the months in a calendar year. Each zodiac sign usually last a month long, and comes from a particular story in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology. That’s a story for another time. Whether you believe in it or not, that’s entirely fine . Today , for the sake of this particular challenge, let’s get into the story and science behind a few signs and placements and their influence.

Did you know ? Typical calendars normally begin in January and ends in December? Well, not in astrology! It has a slightly different perspective.

In this particular science, they believe that the very first zodiac sign begins in late March to mid April, making the year begin with the zodiac sign, Aries, as oppose to Capricorn. Who knows , and who really cares anyway ?🤷🏾‍♀️

Astronomically speaking , every zodiac is just a constellation of stars positioned in a unique way that represents a particular zodiac sign such as , Aquarius, Capricorn, Taurus , and Virgo etc.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb.18)

Symbol: The Water Bearer

Element: Air

For the sake of this challenge , and my fellow air signs . The best way to describe an Aquarius , is to take it back to your childhood for a quick moment. No need to worry , it will be real brief and quick. Now think of that kid in class that was always raising their hand , I mean always had their hand jolting in the air. I’m going to let you in on a little something , that kid either had the answer to the question first or probably was questioning the teachers methods in some way. I am certain , now that you are taking a jog down memory lane . You will remember the teacher getting frustrated or later punishing that kid. I am also very certain that kid was an Aquarius. Why you ask ? because that kid was me . I am an Aquarius based on day I was born . I love asking questions. I remember always getting penalized for ”disrupting the class” . And really, the teachers would be teaching incorrect information and when I would say something that contradicts what they said in any way . I for sure got reprehended for it . If that’s disrupting the class , then yes . I did a lot of that.

That’s what Aquarians do, they ask a lot of questions and it seems to ruffle feathers. Despite to contrary belief, I think is an amazing trait , it urges others to think outside of the norm. I think that also contributes to their urge for knowledge. Asking questions , does make you smarter anyway.Considering that we are highly sensitive people to, closeness to us means vulnerability. An Aquarian personality does not conform to any societal standards. They prefer to live by always thinking outside the box. A free spirit if you will. This star sign are often motivated by social justice and change, deeply desiring to contribute to the cultural shift, particularly in issues of poverty, world health, equal rights, and prison reform. A great example of that would be Rosa Parks. She too is an Aquarius.

An Aquarius loves a good debate, especially one they can agree to disagree. Aquarius get the bigger picture of things and are very big dreamers. You usually can catch an Aquarian actively participating in some sort of humanitarian movement to save the earth, the animals, fashion, something! Although Aquarians are communicative and can be heavy socializers . We require time to get close to people and personal space. In this alone time, you can count on them to be somewhere with headphones , with the music blaring . Music is one of their love languages. Every emotion possible, you can count on an Aquarius to have a song that describes that feel.

When an Aquarius mind is made up, that’s it. There’s nothing no one can say or do to change that. I can say being an Aquarius myself , although my stubbornness can get to the best of me at times, has even caused me to lose out on some really good people and opportunities . One thing is for sure , you can count on an Aquarius to leave a memorable impression. They give anyone much needed inspiration and compassion effortlessly. I firmly believe that through difficult decisions and situations it builds one character.

Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 19)

Symbol: The Goat

Element: Earth

For the longest time, I didn’t understand Capricorns,until I really took the time to understand as oppose to judgement. After all my sister is one and we live together. As I continue to grow and through understanding , I realized that family plays a very big part in a Capricorn’s life. They believe in strong foundations and stability just like their other fellow earth signs. They are very resourceful and can make something out of nothing, very frugal. They have the ability to think quickly on their feet and always has an opinion. Whether you want to hear it or not. I always say , they would be excellent politicans or lawyers . To some, Capricorns can come off as ice cold at times. I think this is because they are extremely excellent at separating their mind from their emotion to make sound decisions. This is why Capricorns are considered to be the Fathers of the Zodiac, they have a very stern and judgmental demeanor. Did I say stern ? lol. People born under the Capricorn star sign tend to have old souls, no matter their age, talking to them feels like they’ve been in this life before. This usually makes them an excellent judge of character. Capricorns are super hard-headed and prefer to learn the lessons of life on their own accord. ( Very similar to Aquarius.) If you have a Capricorn in your life, save your self the time arguing with them over topics. Especially if they are choosing to go at with you . They definitely are not lazy and have a keen desire for knowledge. What I mean by that is , they do research and read . So save yourself the energy and time arguing with them , chances are they are probably right.

Although they have a serious demeanor to people they don’t know, people who know them very well , know that they are pretty humerous and a fun time. Capricorns live for a good laugh. They have the best jokes, majority come from their personal experiences . They speak sarcasm pretty fluently. So much, you may take their sarcasm as them being serious. You can count on a Capricorn to have a clean debate with their loved ones or even strangers, every now and then. Capricorns are the epitome of the definition of loyal. In fact, they are most often loyal to a fault and loyal to those who simply do not know how to reciprocate such honorable gestures.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Symbol: The Bull

Element: Earth

We don’t call them the bull for no reason, that’s for sure ! My other sister is a Taurus. They are very direct people. They mean what they say and say what they mean. You need to develop thick skin to be around a Taurus. At times they are very confrontational and can come at you full force, without hesitation which intimidates some if not most people. Stubbornness is something you can guarantee to find in all Taureans. These are the kind of people that are dead set in their ways. Once their mind is made up about something, that’s pretty much it, there’s no changing it so don’t even bother. You’ll Thank me later. But under all that thick, stubborn skin, there is a really affectionate and dependable person who knows no bounds when it comes to love and loyalty. Although, Taureans are known for their wondering eye, they never stray for too long; they believe in foundation, structure and stability. Taurus is like the wild child of the zodiac. It almost feels like they purposely break rules, ignore caution and do what they feel at all times. BIG, BOLD best describes Taurus . This is another sign with grand gestures, telling amazing stories. Did mention that they are pretty witty an have a great sense of humour. Some Taurus are magneticly lively. You can gurantee having a good time with a Taurus , especially if they are in good spirits.

Virgo ( August 24- September 24)

Symbol: The Virgin

Element: Earth

Living in a house that is dominated by Earth signs and having a mother who is a Virgo. It only makes sense to discuss Virgo Placements.

These people have the heart of gold, for the ones they love. Let me clarify , Not gold plated love but solid gold. They will give you the shirts off their backs if they had to , their last meal as well as their last cent. This can contribute to the fact that Virgos are naturally givers by nature. This feature is solely for those they care about, But for the ones they don’t fancy, beware. Virgos have a mean side that comes out only after they have felt unappreciated or played with. Due to their loving and caring nature , Virgos tend to overextend themselves to others, especially those who aren’t deserving of all their kind services.

Since they value family so highly, traditions and stability so much. This star sign WILL go to any measure possible to make sure that their loved ones are okay and have everything they need, even if that means they have to be without.

I say all this to say, Do NOT take a Virgo’s kindness for weakness , ever. Unappreciative people can make them bitter or cold which is not a nice sight. Don’t get on a Virgos bad side ! Let’s face it , Virgos can be mean. Like, really mean when provoked.

Virgo’s WILL keep you guessing with their “I gotta go” demeanor, wondering just where and what they have to do that’s so important that they have to leave the party two and half hours earlier than everyone else. All I’m saying is mind your OWN business and not theirs . If they want to tell you , believe me they will in due time.

Although , Zodiacs can be fun and cool conversation starters for most , I urge you all to get to know people for who they are . Don’t solely rely on a horoscope post to tell you what you are , Or think you really know somebody . As you’ve probably gathered by now or your perceptions, Aquarius are a very difficult group to just fit them all in a box, and to say ALL act in one particular way. I have to disagree. I think that it takes a variety of things , like up -bringing, enviorments and life experiences that contribute to shaping a person. Who raised them , siblings , ancestrally dynamics etc. I say this as living in house dominated by Earth signs and a Virgo as a mother. I believe all equally hold some strong significance and influence to who I am, my views and personality traits. Now, I also think that learning ones self , from likes and dislikes , strengths and weakness is fundamental. Strengthens the relationships around you and with yourself.

In essence , despite what pre conceived opinions you may have on a Aquarius or any other sign , negatively or positively. Get to really know yourself , and people around you. With that being said , I do not fit into only one box . I believe that I have many aspects from most, if not all of the 12 Zodiac Signs. Quite frankly , I also don't think I care enough to actively discourage any particular traits either . After all , stars are very tiny , which connects us all in some way or form anyway.
