Giant virus found again in the Arctic!
The impact is unknown, how will the Earth end up if it continues like this?

In recent years, the earth's environment has been a hot topic of discussion among human beings.
With the development of science, mankind's insatiable demand for resources has caused a certain impact on the environment. With the rise of global temperature and the melting of glacial ice caps, this series of data tells us that if we do not pay attention to it in time, it is likely to cause a huge disaster.
Imagine if one day, the ancient virus sealed by low temperature in the extreme cold of the earth suddenly revives, what kind of disaster will it bring?
Earth's anomalies
This year, for many people, is destined to be an extraordinary year, the massive resurgence of the epidemic, this summer's abnormal heat, and drought, as well as the successive earthquakes, and giant typhoons, whether experienced or not, we can not help but ask the question, what happened recently? However, before the question is answered, a new question arises.
In a journal called Applied and Environmental Microbiology, there is a paper that mentions the discovery of a "giant virus" in the Arctic.
The virus was found in Milne Ford Shellfish Lake in Canada, which was formed later in life due to glacial melt and is one of several key ecosystem areas in the Arctic. A variety of single-celled organisms live here, and the giant virus can spread through cyanobacteria, thus affecting the entire lake.
What is even more deadly is that this area is also the hardest hit by global warming, which means that as the local ice shelves and glaciers continue to melt, the lake will also continue to expand and even merge into the ocean area.
Then, it is likely that this virus will always exist and continue to reproduce and spread, converge into the sea, and then gradually invade human life with the circulation of the biosphere such as ocean currents.
And human understanding of this virus is very limited, it is not clear what its harm is, but this unknown threat is often more frightening. No one knows if he will be the source of some major disease.
For the time being, although there is little human activity there, it cannot be ruled out that it is carried outside of the wildlife to spread and thus the possibility of a crisis for humans.
Therefore, we can not because these extremely cold places are too far away from us, and do not take them seriously, they may at any time because of an accident, or because of the butterfly effect, set off a huge wave.

Arctic viruses are frequent
Of course, this is not the first time that human beings found a giant virus, as early as 14 years, human beings have found a giant virus in the extreme cold of Russia, the reason why it is called giant is that the maximum diameter of ordinary viruses is only 250 manometers, but the virus is as big as 1500 manometers.
According to research, it existed 30,000 years ago and is currently only active in amoebas, so it does not affect us, which is certainly a relief to humans.
But humans are not often so lucky, 16 years when humans discovered a dangerous virus. Academically known as Bacillus anthracite, the virus disappeared more than 70 years ago, but it was seen again in caribou.
The reindeer happened to die in a Bacillus anthracite epidemic, and as temperatures rose, the frozen reindeer was thawed and the dormant virus revived, infecting more than 2,000 reindeer and nearly 100 residents.
According to statistics, over the past hundred years, humans have discovered nearly three hundred different viruses in the Arctic.
This number is only increasing as CO levels rise and temperatures climb, which deserves our attention.
Unusual climate
According to past climate statistics, the high temperature in the Arctic is constantly breaking new records, and this year, Siberia reached 38 degrees, breaking the highest record ever.
The glaciers and ice caps have melted tens of billions of tons in the last hundred years, and the topic of "Antarctica turning green" is often in the human eye, which is not a good sign. And this year's updated report shows that the Arctic has been warming more than twice as fast.
So where are the plants and animals that depend on cold temperatures to survive?
Not only that, but global warming will also affect the trajectory of ocean currents, and most of the fish will be unable to adapt to die. This large-scale biological extinction will be like dominoes, with the biological chain affecting the lives of other organisms, which can be called a small biological extinction outbreak.
The temperature of the Arctic Circle has been to this, not to mention the inland areas, more than a decade ago, Europe's outbreak of heat, resulted in nearly 80,000 deaths.
And this year's heat wave around the world not only affects agriculture and rivers but also leads to a lack of electricity supply everywhere, affecting the normal life of residents.
This series of phenomena are reminding us that whether it is the rising sea level or the great outbreak of ancient viruses brought about by the disappearance of the ice cap, all of them will threaten the current situation of human existence, and if we do not pay attention to them earlier, then sooner or later we will be engulfed by these consequences.
What should we do?
Low-carbon environmental protection should never be just a dry slogan but should be implemented in the actions of all people.
Planting trees, saving water and electricity, don't look at the power of one person is very small, but the accumulation of a small amount into a large number, these quantitative changes are enough to cause qualitative changes, but also very likely to make the global carbon increase slow down, or even stop.
The power of nature is extremely frightening, from small microorganisms to large dinosaurs, who can be spared from the "blame" of nature?
Although mankind is searching around in the vast universe, dedicated to developing a second home, this is almost impossible to achieve in the short term, it should be said that to achieve such technology, mankind needs at least some leaps and bounds of change.
So we should not pin our hopes on the future, but focus on the present and guard our planet.
