Gemini: The Best Sign To Be In The Age Of Information

The Chamelion Star Sign

The Gemini Constellation

Astrology is a much-loved topic amongst both the woo-busters and the flower children. Of course, I don't take star signs as gospel, but they are relatable to some extent.

As a Geminian (and flower child), I get the best of both worlds which is embodied in the duality represented by the Twins. Another bonus is that I am born in May which has the birthstone, Emerald; It is considered a lucky gemstone of Gemini. The Emerald gemstone symbolises growth, vitality, awakening, and rebirth.

The Twins' Traits

Some of the traits of Gemini include adaptability, intelligence, whimsicalness, and free-spiritedness. These are the strengths that come with being a Gemini. I have all of the traits mentioned above. The weak characteristics of the Gemini are indecisiveness, impulsivity, and nosiness. I am definitely indecisive and nosy at the best at times. I can be impulsive but that is very very rare. I prefer to plan things through instead of acting on impulse, although spontaneity can really add an element of surprise to life.

The third house, "The House of Communications" involves the communications between individuals and those in their inner circle and technology used to transmit information. The nature of communication here has a conscious element to it, irrespective of the communication method i.e., writing, speaking, etc. This quality highlights the role of intelligence in this house. Aside from communication and technology, the Third House also dominates transportation, education (specifically early education), and language.

Gemini enables Geminians to leverage communication in such a natural way. Why? Because this house is ruled by Gemini and Mercury. But beware because during retrograde in Mercury, Gemini's communication is heavily impacted (I'll talk about this later).

Communication has been and always will be important. Due to our advancement in technology, information has become more technical. Thus, developing the ability to communicate clearly and precisely is important - a piece of cake for this aspect of Gemini!

Multiple Personalities

Please. This doesn't equate to the Batman villain, Two-Face, or does it? Yes, we Geminis might come across as having 'multiple personalities' due to our adaptability.

For some, this might be confusing, for others not so much. Personally, this is good in the sense that we can meet people at their level. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to meet someone on a level that is 'negatively charged', although it can happen. So watch out Geminis!

Having the ability to adapt to different environments and thus understand shows a rather high EQ (emotional intelligence). Having a high EQ is crucial to forming healthy and sustainable relationships with others and oneself. I find it hard to empathise with others at times - that's normal, we're all human after all. Overall, I can show empathy to others, and as a person on the spectrum, this can sometimes be kicked into overdrive.

My zest for trying out new things in life can make me indecisive because there is just so much to choose from! I have so many hobbies and projects that I would like to do and take on. My brain is like a quantum computer for over 90% of the time - a superposition of possibilities.

"Compatible" Star Signs

In this department, compatibility is a no-go. Virtually all the signs that are supposedly compatible with Gemini are incompatible from my personal experience. Geminis are supposedly most compatible with Libra, Leo, Aquarius, and Aries. I know at least one person (or should I say knew of) from the "compatible" signs. To put it plainly; I didn't think much of these peeps. 9 times out of 10, the Libras that I had met were dramatic and loved being centre stage. Over the top and melodramatic. Welcome to the West End. My interactions with Libras pissed me off.

Perhaps it is because their character may have overshadowed Gemini's communication? I can only speculate...

Aries: Selfish and spiteful. Aquarius: Dull and aloof. Leos: don't know whether they're coming or going. These signs I feel conflicted with me because I am considerate of others and crave adventure. Plus, I want to know where the hell I am going. Hence, the growth aspect of Gemini.

Out of the least compatible signs (Pieces, Taurus, Cancer, and Virgo), the only sign that I have gotten along with overall are Pieces. One of my good friends is a Pieces, and he is lovely! Friendly and chilled. I also tend to get along very well with other Geminis. I think it's because they generally share the same enthusiasm about creating new things - we're innate imagineers!

Recuperating during Retrograde

The term Retrograde in Astrology is used to describe planets that 'move backward' in the sky. This backward motion is an illusion; the planets always orbit the sun in the same direction. The position of the Earth relative to other planets dictates this illusory movement.

There are at least 8 types of retrograde. Each planet in our solar system goes into retrograde. Planets closer to us that go into retrograde are more extreme in comparison to planets further away from us.

All star signs are impacted by any retrograde, however, some signs more than others depending on which planet is in retrograde. Mercury in retrograde impacts Gemini big time! It should be no surprise as Gemini is ruled by Mercury. Everything is completely thrown out of whack! Communication goes down the drain.

The most recent Mercury retrograde was the period January 30, 2021 - February 20, 2021. During this period, I had more disagreements than usual. Toward the end of this period, I found that the intensity of disagreements was noticeably less or easier to resolve. I even made more of a conscious effort to be in solitude. Having this time to recalibrate and readjust helped me along with my spiritual journey.

The Takeaway

Stars signs are not absolute truth. There is no scientific evidence that proves astrological signs accurately: describe personality traits based on what time of the year they were born; predict financial prosperity, romantic life, and fate. Astrology is however based on mathematical and scientific principles (which remain constant). Fascinating how something has an empirical foundation is unfalsifiable, huh? It doesn't really surprise me because human beings are very complex in nature. Plus, there are nearly 8 billion of us on the planet, and all of us are unique in our own way.

Although I take the signs as a pinch of salt, I like using them as a guide. It adds fun and mystery!

In my perspective, It makes life a little more exciting.
