Enchanted and Spellbound by the Moon in Taurus
I always shoot for the Moon, knowing that even if I miss it, I'll land among the stars

I'm a Virgo with the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Taurus. The sign position of the Moon reveals much about our habits, instincts, and innermost needs. Virgo Sun and Taurus Moon is usually a fortunate combination that portrays a worthy and reliable personality.
Symbolically, the Moon and the Sun are intertwined since both symbolize the feminine and masculine polarities. The Moon is as fundamental as the Sun because it governs water, the source of fertility and life. The Moon translates the biological movements since it has a dominant influence on water, thus considered a fecundity symbol. The Moon symbolizes the present time, and for many cultures, it was the measure of time. Native Americans measured time by the moon's cycles.
With the new Moon on 13 January began the first Lunar cycle of a new decade. Afterward, came the powerful Wolf Moon on January 28, appearing opposite to the Sun in Earth-based longitude at 2:16 PM EST. The Moon was full for about three days, from Wednesday morning through the early part of Saturday.
"If you strive for the Moon, maybe you'll get over the fence." —James Woods
The Wolf Moon
The Old Farmer’s Almanac explains the origin of the "wolf" metaphor:
It’s thought that January’s full Moon came to be known as the Wolf Moon because wolves were more often heard howling at this time. It was traditionally believed that wolves howled due to hunger during winter, but we know today that wolves howl for other reasons. Howling and other wolf vocalizations are generally used to define territory, locate pack members, reinforce social bonds, and coordinate hunting.

The Snow Moon
The second full Moon of 2021, called Snow Moon, reached peak illumination last Saturday early morning. I had the chance to do my moon gazing meditation on the night of Friday, February 26, as it was drifting above the horizon in the east around sunset. Afterward, the moon reached its highest point in the sky around midnight.
Why is it called a Snow Moon?
According to data from the National Weather Service, February’s full Moon is called a Snow Moon because of the traditional heavy snowfall during that month, historically known as the United States’ snowiest month.
“Groundhog found fog. New snows and blue toes. Fine and dandy for Valentine candy. Snow spittin’; if you’re not mitten-smitten, you’ll be frostbitten! By jingy feels springy.”― The Old Farmer’s Almanac
Poets and novelists have depicted the harshness of winter during those freezing February days and nights:
“February is a suitable month for dying. Everything around is dead, the trees black and frozen so that the appearance of green shoots two months hence seems preposterous, the ground hard and cold, the snow dirty, the winter hateful, hanging on too long.” ― Anna Quindlen
“It is growing cold. Winter is putting footsteps in the meadow. What whiteness boasts that sun that comes into this wood! One would say milk-colored maidens are dancing on the petals of orchids. How coldly burns our sun! One would say its rays of light are shards of snow, one imagines the sun lives upon a snow-crested peak on this day. One would say she is a woman who wears a gown of winter frost that blinds the eyes. Helplessness has weakened me. Wandering has wearied my legs.” ― Roman Payne

Nasa released a summary of celestial events (with angles and times based on NASA's Headquarters located in Washington, DC). The agency explains the Snow Moon transit:
The Moon will appear full for about three days around this time, from Thursday evening, February 25, through Sunday morning, February 28, 2021.” The March 25 Worm Moon will be on Sunday afternoon, at 2:48 PM EDT The Moon will appear full for about three days around this time, from early Saturday morning into early Tuesday morning.
Today, Tuesday, March 2, just after midnight, at 12:19 AM EST, the Moon was at perigee, its closest to the Earth for this orbit.

The Worm Moon
The next full Moon will be Sunday afternoon, March 28, 2021, at 2:48 PM EDT. "The Moon will appear full for about 3 days around this time, from early Saturday morning into early Tuesday morning."
Whys is it called the Worm Moon?
This probably refers to the earthworms that emerge as the soil warms in spring. In 2021, the Northern Hemisphere spring equinox occurs on Saturday, March 20. A.M. EDT, and marks the beginning of springtime. Thus, this Moon is also the so-called Paschal Full Moon, the first full Moon of spring.

Fun Fact
Did you know that the Moon’s diameter (2,160 miles) is less than the United States' width (approximately 3,000 miles)?
Final Thought
"Those are the same stars, and that is the same moon, that look down upon your brothers and sisters, and which they see as they look up to them, though they are ever so far away from us, and each other." —Sojourner Truth
