Comparing the New iPhone 16 better with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?
Is the New iPhone 16 better Than Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?

Apple released its new flagship iPhone 16 on the 9th of September 2024 and it has been generating a buzz online with Apple announcing that its website crashed after an unprecedented number of visitors bombarded it.
The question on everyone’s lips now is; will the new iPhone 16 displace Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra? While there are obvious similarities between the two, there are lots of differences worth mentioning, the most obvious is the fact that Samsung smartphones are powered by Android OS and Apple iPhones are powered by IOS.
The Similarities Between iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Apple iPhone 16 comes with a few extra hardware features that make it upgrade to the iPhone 15 and those extra buttons make everyday IOS use a lot easier. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra retains its signature S-pen which makes it easier to take notes, append signatures, and do some other things
Both smartphones have a focus on generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), these are; Apple Intelligence, and Galaxy AI. Both smartphones come with primary, periscope, and ultra-wide lenses, but there are some differences in their camera output.
Comparing iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
These two flagship smartphones can be compared in diverse ways especially the ones highlighted below;
1. Pricing and Availability
Both smartphones are pricey with the 256GB memory iPhone 16 Pro Max currently selling at $1,199 while the Samsung S24 Ultra selling for $1299 for the 512GB memory option. The Apple product seems to win slightly when it comes to price.
2. Updated Artificial Intelligence
One of the coolest new features on the new iPhone 16 is the inclusion of IOS 18 and generative AI features. This AI feature has been incorporated with Siri for photo editing, generative images, and cool emoji customization, known as Genmoji.
Samsung doesn’t lag in this sector, The Samsung Galaxy AI can perform most of the things the new IPhone AI does. It can also rewrite texts, translate phone calls from one language to another, remove objects from photos, and edit your images and videos.
The problem here is that Apple’s new AI on iPhone 16 is exclusive to the United States of America, hence the limitation on the feature for those living in the EU and many other parts of the world.
3. In-built Stylus
This is one area the new iPhone 16 cannot compete with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This cool feature compliments the phone’s 6.8-inch OLED screen. The pen can be easily accessed, and you can use it to doodle or hand-write notes on the phone. The S-pen takes things further, you can use it to control presentation slides, or remotely shut down or activate a camera shutter to take group photos.
Today, Galaxy S24 remains one of the top Android smartphones with an in-built stylus and this one feature makes it more practical than the iPhone 16.
4. Other New Stuff on iPhone 16
The new iPhone 16 offers much more than upgraded Artificial Intelligence. It packs a few new, handy controls including the new camera control button.
It retains the action button on the iPhone 15 series and this is a button that is re-programmable it has replaced the silent switch used in much older iPhones and it allows you to take several shortcuts for simple tasks like turning the torch on.
The new camera button on the new iPhone acts like a physical shutter for the camera app. You can press this to focus the camera and take a full press to capture your shot. The feature is touch-capacitive hence you can swipe left or right to zoom in or out. Samsung S24 on the other hand still possesses the regular volume and power buttons with no extra buttons for added functionality. Technically, the iPhone 16 wins it this time.
5. Samsung Galaxy S24 Comes with a Better Digital Zoom
The new iPhone 16 Pro Max comes with a solid camera that offers a 48MP sensor at the front plus dual 12 MP ultrawide and periscope lenses. The phone delivers 5x optical zoom that can be increased to 15x digital zoom.
When it comes to zoom capacity, the S24 can offer up to 100x digital zoom with its 50MP, 5x periscope lens. Given that 100x shots may look more blurry, it is still a handy thing to have on your device. The device also sports a 200 MP main camera which also came with the S23. The main camera comes with an added 12MP ultra-wide lens specifically designed for scenic image capturing.
6. Power and Delivery
Both devices can be compared based on their delivery and power. IPhone 16 comes with Apple A18 Pro Chipset, which experts have discovered to be more powerful than Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Opening apps, browsing, and file sharing speeds are almost the same on the two devices however, the Apple iPhone option can deliver micro-second speeds faster than the S24.
